The location was impeccable. Nestled along the banks of the Sabie River, I was treated to a breathtaking spectacle of elephants gracefully crossing the water, while hippos playfully splashed in and out. The hotel’s proximity to Kruger Gate made it an ideal spot for an early game drive, ensuring a seamless experience. I was fortunate enough to spot all the big five and the ugly five during my visit. The room I stayed in was newly built and exceptionally comfortable. On the other hand, the hotel itself appears to be older. The food was decent and they offered some gluten free options.

This is a really special spot in Kruger National Park. The bungalows and common spaces are beautiful. We saw elephants and rhinos at the watering hole from the balcony serval times. They host two guided game drives per day with amazing guides. We saw so many animals. The staff is absolutely wonderful - everything is taken care of from a lovely breakfast to wonderful dinners and plenty of snacks in between. It was a magical stay!

The property is wonderfully situated next to the river and animals can be seen at all times of the day from the common area or your balcony. The game drives were absolutely amazing. It was our second visit to this hotel we really liked it the first time but made a note to ask for a ground floor room as there are no elevators / lifts .When we booked we asked for a ground floor room and no scent to be sprayed in the room by the cleaning staff as I have asthma and the fragrance affects my chest . Upon arrival we were told we had a first floor room , we protested and they found another room on the " ground Floor " but to get to this room was a long walk and involved some stairs . The room also had a strong odor of the fragrance the cleaning staff spray on the carpets , this was all quite upsetting but besides this the hotel is nice .

We absolutely loved the staff and the very warm welcome!! The accommodations were excellent. The food was phenomenal, and the chef even prepared delicious vegetarian food for half of our family! The airport pick-up staff was friendly and starting showing us animals as we drove from the airport to our lodging. The view of the river from our private patio was just gorgeous, and we witnessed a family of elephants coming down to the river upon arrival. The evening drive and the morning drive were perfect and we were able to see the Big 5… actually only 4 ( didn’t see a rhino) but we all learned so much! We enjoyed every moment and appreciated the parka jackets ( a very cold morning!) and mountain top break with snacks with the morning game drive. FYI: the morning and evening game drives are included with your stay. Highly recommend Leopard Sands for an amazing Kruger Park experience of a lifetime!

I saw loads of the animals I was looking for, Giraffe, Rhino, Impala, Crocodile, Elephants Kudu, and even a couple of Lions and 2 Leopards. Saw the Wild Dogs and Buffalo.
I also played golf at Skukuza Golf Club which was a bit of fun. Everyone was friendly and we always felt safe.

Great park, amazing wildlife, fantastic experience.
Great park, amazing wildlife, fantastic experience. This being said, it is not a zoo! Don't expect to see all the existing animals in the parc! Some are easy to spot and other not so much, this is real animal kingdom and it's difficult to say who is watching who! Sun sets are also amazing with beautiful colors. Vegetation is small but dense(bushes). According to our guide it is easier to spot the animal during winter / dry season. Bushes hve less leaves making easier spotting animals and the animals gather around the water spot. During summer it is the opposite. Bushes are more dense and r'there is water everywhere making animal spotting more difficult. So an advice: winter is great for animals but of course temperature are lower so be prepared for low temperature and bring some warm clothes.

Right in the Kruger national park, so close to the Skukuza airport and has an incredible view of the river.
Even though we went during the wet season we saw plenty of animals including lion cubs.
