Everything. The property is very centrally located. It is tastefully furnished and decked out with the most interesting art and ceramics. The beds are super comfortable and the rooms have lots of thoughtful touches.
We were there for a MTB race - one night was perfect.
We were there for a MTB race - one night was perfect. We had dinner in town, coffee in the morning before the race. The town is quaint, not a lot to do - one night is fine. There are some very nice restaurants - depending on budget. At this time of year its very pretty, canola in the fields, snow on the distant mountains. Temperatures of 25deg during the day! Summer would be too hot for me!

I went to Riebeek-Kasteel because I am interested in emerging wine-producing regions. I found numerous excellent winemakers there and enjoyed my time talking to people in the local wine industry. I think that Riebeek-Kasteel will become much more famous for its wines all around the world over the next decade.
Many of the smaller winemakers who make especially good wines do not have regular wine tastings. Visitors should plan carefully to ensure that they are able to join some of the wine tastings organised by larger wine-related organisations in the area so that they can sample the produce of some of the smaller winemakers at those tastings.

Riebeek Kasteel is a delight with loads of bistros, restaurants to choose from and charming stores to browse around in. The hotel's restaurant and adjacent Fench Bistro both provide charming ambiance and tasty menus.

Full of lovely restaurants and wine and olive farms nearby to visit.
We particularly enjoyed eating at The Royal Hotel. The food and the service, as well as the ambience was exceptional.
I would suggest that 2 days is enough time to spend in Riebeek- Kasteel.

Loved the restaurants - Royal Hotel/ La Parrilla/ Beans for Coffee and The Valley Deli were all exceptional and very much cost effective. Our win for the trip was Kloovenburg Wine Farm, stunning facilities with good tasting options for both Wine and Olives, fantastic value for money and staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Montpellier is definitely worthwhile to visit.
Montpellier is definitely worthwhile to visit. We enjoyed the MCC tasting and cheese board at the Bouval restaurant.
Other places to visit: close to Riebeeck-Kasteel: Eightfeet village, Bosjes, Botha Kelder and Marras.
Our visits to Franschoek and Boschendal were however a disappointment. It was just too busy and probably better to visit outside the festive season.

Everything! Could not recommend 1 Royal Street Guesthouse enough. The accommodation is absolutely beautiful. I wanted to live there😃
fantastic bed, shower and amazing breakfast.
Our host Antonio was a warm, friendly and a very welcoming host- couldn’t be better.
It’s not a question of no.1 being the best place to stay in Riebeek-Kasteel it’s more that you would visit Riebeek-Kasteel to stay at 1 Royal Street. An absolute treat! Thank you!
The studio we stayed in was easily accessible from where our vehicle was parked. The facilities in the studio were adequate for what we required for a one night stay, the aircon was welcome after a hot day in Riebeek-Kasteel!
The gardens and pool were beautifully kept and we enjoyed a nice swim in the afternoon. Our hosts were very friendly.
Very close to the "main" road of Riebeek-Kasteel. The rooms were clean and the aircon was a lovely reprieve from the heat. Both Rene and Dominique were friendly and helpful.
The location of the hotel is fantastic, right in the centre of the little town. The beautiful long stoep is a great place to sit and have drinks and watch the world go by.
