The food was amazing. Better than the local restaurants we did visit. Super attentive hosts that we had some good chats with...highly recommended if you want something that's a level up from any other B&B.

Here goes a very long overdue review.
We spent a weekend in Riebeek-Kasteel at Almond Cottage and absolutely loved our stay. The Host went out of her way to ensure a comfortable stay. She even set out a plate of snacks upon request as it was our anniversary. They respected our privacy and communicated via WhatsApp to ensure that we have everything we need. The cottage was clean with aesthetically pleasing finishes. We also enjoyed the aircon and the fan when we were not out and about as it was a hot weekend. We also enjoyed the small fireplace during the evenings. This is a perfect getaway for couples.
We will gladly revisit Almond Cottage when we explore more of the area. 12/10!! Superb Experience

Simple, clean, beautiful house in a great location
Beautiful little town with plenty on offer. We walked around town , had a drink at the hotel and then had a very good dinner across the road. The food was good and the ambience and prices were excellent. We also explored the wine farms around.

We were there for a MTB race - one night was perfect. We had dinner in town, coffee in the morning before the race. The town is quaint, not a lot to do - one night is fine. There are some very nice restaurants - depending on budget. At this time of year its very pretty, canola in the fields, snow on the distant mountains. Temperatures of 25deg during the day! Summer would be too hot for me!

I went to Riebeek-Kasteel because I am interested in emerging wine-producing regions. I found numerous excellent winemakers there and enjoyed my time talking to people in the local wine industry. I think that Riebeek-Kasteel will become much more famous for its wines all around the world over the next decade.
Many of the smaller winemakers who make especially good wines do not have regular wine tastings. Visitors should plan carefully to ensure that they are able to join some of the wine tastings organised by larger wine-related organisations in the area so that they can sample the produce of some of the smaller winemakers at those tastings.

Full of lovely restaurants and wine and olive farms nearby to visit.
We particularly enjoyed eating at The Royal Hotel. The food and the service, as well as the ambience was exceptional.
I would suggest that 2 days is enough time to spend in Riebeek- Kasteel.

Loved the restaurants - Royal Hotel/ La Parrilla/ Beans for Coffee and The Valley Deli were all exceptional and very much cost effective. Our win for the trip was Kloovenburg Wine Farm, stunning facilities with good tasting options for both Wine and Olives, fantastic value for money and staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We loved our stay at Kokos Huis. We intended to stay for 3 nights, but extended our stay with 2 more nights. The staff does anything to make your stay amazing, we even received a tailor-made itinerary with recommendations in Riebeek-Kasteel and surroundings prior to our stay. Breakfast is also great! We stayed in the family room which is spacious if you intend to stay with kids.
This was more like a 5 star hotel than a guest house. Very high standard of furnishings, style and decor. Huge and clean bathroom, comfy bed and lovely additions like tea, homemade rusks and bottled water. Host was very polite and breakfast impressive. A really lovely place and excellent value for money.
Well located hotel; very clean; beautiful building, well maintained. Beds were comfortable, units were spacious, nice that there is a bar, restaurants etc on site, all in all a very nice hotel and a very nice suite. Beautiful views, grounds are well maintained.
Very close to the "main" road of Riebeek-Kasteel. The rooms were clean and the aircon was a lovely reprieve from the heat. Both Rene and Dominique were friendly and helpful.
