Incredibly affordable and would be perfect for a family that wanted to self drive on 4x4 reserve roads. Friendly staff. (Note - I only popped in for 1 night as a stopover and did not take part in any game activities.)

Was a great adventure, Lodge facilities very peaceful and relaxing overlooking the water hole. Homely food in the restaurant. Roads need attention, but am sure will improve with time.

However, it could help with the flow and control of traffic with so many trucks to have traffic lights at certain points in town.

We used as a stopover en route to Sodwana. In future, since we know what all there is to offer at this bed and breakfast, will try to arrive earlier to enjoy the amenities. Really well treated by all friendly and very efficient staff, lovely accommodation, breakfast was amazing.

As we travelled from Kosi Bay to Pretoria, Pongola was selected as a stop-over destination and the road to Pongola was perfect. However the road from Pongola to Piet Retief was atrocious - not recommended due to a large number of trucks and subsequently very bad and dangerous road surfaces.

Pongola is definitely not a place I will overnight again.
Pongola is definitely not a place I will overnight again. The town is polluted and dodgy and there are no restaurants except a dirty little Wimpy at a quick shop, which had beer bottles hidden in the jungle gym that apparently doubles as a public toilet, judging by the smell.
Pongola is a well-situated stopover when heading to the Northern KZN coast and has some fantastic nature of its own. Coco Cabana is very close to all the local amenities in Pongola central and is neat, tidy and has a very polite and helpful host.
The place is so beautiful and quite, the room is spacious and the bathroom facilities, I loved the Lux body wash. I will definitely come back next time. I will also refer my collogues whenever they are going to Pongola
Location was great as we were in Pongola for a parkrun. The breakfast was good and made especially for our needs. The gardens were beautiful. Will definitely recommend this place
