The roads are in terrible shape with potholes everywhere.
The roads are in terrible shape with potholes everywhere. Travel in a 4X4 to avoid costly damages on your car. I am sure the council at Newcastle will give the usual excuses like they have no money in their budget to fix the roads. Of course, they have no money because there is misappropiation and stealing of money from the budget. Com'on Newcastle, YOUCAN DO BETTER

Very quiet area, looking as expected of a bnb.
Very quiet area, looking as expected of a bnb. The room was quite antique but expected for the price paid. The bedding was very clean which was a plus. The owner was super friendly and helpful.
The night shift lady was just the same as well. Nice ironing facility. Again I was it was a double bed because itt was the two of us travelling and we are big.

At the junction of three provinces, this KwaZulu-Natal town...
At the junction of three provinces, this KwaZulu-Natal town is a natural destination and departure point for travelers on the busy route between Durban and Johannesburg although the major road now the N3 highway, no longer passes through here, the settlement was originally established at a fork in the road, one route going to what is now the Free State and the other to what is now Gauteng.
Newcastle is a sunny and warm place and is significant as an excellent stopover on the Battlefield Route which works its way around the midlands in KwaZulu-Natal. The route is a comprehensive guide to battles and events that have characterised this part of the country. Deeply involved in the Anglo-Boer War, Newcaslte has a number of battlefield sites including Laings Nek, Majuba and Schuinshoogte.

The hostess is a nightmare.
The hostess is a nightmare. She first accuse me of tearing her curtain ofwhich she had not put a stopper. Then she said I had to many people. I booke for 4 the 4 th person was a baby. She said I should have said so. Child under 2. She said I burned a paper on a cupboard with an iron. We never used an iron after finding out there’s no ironing board. Then we stole her body lotion. She only stopped insulting me when I told her I’ll make booking.com aware
