Beautiful peaceful little quaint spot, with friendly staff!
Both Rose and Mike were delightful hosts and really do make you feel right at home.
I usually book at one of the game lodges as its all inclusive with game drives etc.
This was a different breakaway, were we just wanted fresh air, stars, long walks, peace and quiet
The accommodation itself comes with a cute little breakfast on a porch overlooking a riverbed- and if your lucky you would see lions or hear them.
I opted for the lunch and dinner as extras before our arrival - the pricing was reasonable and the food was excellent!
Dinner was a boma braai, the broccoli salad, lamb chops and Rose’s cheese cake was a hit! The other stuff was pretty good too.
Lunch was a light lunch- simple and fresh.
Food service- like everything on that end, do not be in a rush, everything happens in time. Your on holiday, sit back and enjoy a cuppa whilst you take in a breath of fresh air.
Rooms- rooms have aircons with heating and cooling, bedding- those if us that are accustomed to 5 star and our need for percale sheets or bedding with a higher thread count- you will be pleased to know, this place covers that.
There is a large mountain of pillows on the bed- but i guess it makes the room pretty and you have different pillow options.
Bathroom- super clean, gas heated showers, just check your outside settings before hopping into the shower.
Rooms were really cozy, loved them.
The poster girls!!!! They have 3 poodles! Which are extremely adorable and well behaved! I just couldn’t get enough of them.
Veggie garden- rose has her beautiful veggie garden and most of the stuff is in the food you eat, talk about organic living! We even got some takeaway veggies.
Overall we will be returning next year and be frequent visitors here.

Everything about our stay was exceptional- from the warm welcome we received to the amazing service . One evening I mentioned I had gotten quite cold after a visit to Pongola Lake and I returned to my room to find a hot candlelit bath waiting for me !! I am gluten intolerant and received fresh gluten free bread and many food options too 🤩
Our room was clean and warm and welcoming we could sit outside and watch Impalas walk by and warthogs . We had a guided safari tour and saw many more animals as well as having an evening drink at the lake - a very worthwhile visit x

Mkuze is the best place to stay if you want to visit the Mkuze Game Reserve. We saw plenty at the two hides - herds of wildebeest, impala and nyala and plenty of birds.
It's about 60 km to the Memorial Gate entrance to the Imfolozi-Hluhluwe Game Reserve - we got up early and got there as the gates opened to spend the day in the reserve.
It's also worth driving up Jozini and taking a boat out on the dam. The hotel has a great offering of tours with their own guides.

The plunge pool didn’t have warm water and it had frogs.
On the first night we were given a menu with items which they didn’t have physically
No lighting from the restaurant to our room and we came across a snake Saturday night.

Mpeti Lodge was beautiful and relaxing.
Mpeti Lodge was beautiful and relaxing. The morning and afternoon safari drives were the best part of the trip. Our guides were so knowledgeable and provided drinks and snacks in the bush and at the Jozini Dam while we were allowed to take in the land and views. The staff was most hospitable and catered to all our needs during dinning hours. Views from the executive suite was lovely, especially watching the sunrise.

Lovely part of the world that I have never been to.
Loved the quietness and spectacular views. Will
highly recommend for nature lovers. Mkhuze Game Reserve is a haven of birds and the Hiltop Lodge at Hluehlue Game Reserve has spectacular views. To maximise game viewing will recommend you visit at least two Game reserves around the area and also at different times of the day. We did a self drive as we wanted to pace our day and times but several of the lodges do provide guided ones which I felt were overpriced. Ghost Mountain Inn was our base for exploring the area and was a more beautiful Inn than the pictures online presented and staff are wonderful plus the food is really good with enough variety for all dietary requirements. There is also a
Spa and two swimming pools for use by guests. We
Loved it there so much we extended our stay by an extra night.

Our trip was exceptional, we only wish we could have stayed longer. The area is beautiful, the lodge itself is perfect and the staff are nothing short of amazing. I cannot recommend Mpeti lodge specifically enough, we will definitely be back as soon as possible as this was the best trip my wife and I have ever been on. The room, the food, the service, the game drives, everything was exactly what we'd hoped for and more.
Lovely, spotlessly clean room, with a nice balcony. The whole hotel was stunning, especially the beautiful grounds. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it. One of the nicest places we stayed on our holiday.
The location of the hotel, the beautiful garden, the excellent food, the more than friendly personnel, and most of all, the friendly atmosphere of the place!
