They made an amazing team, spotted all of the animals we hoped for and provided lots of great insights! We definitely enjoyed our time and every drive to the fullest.

What a magical place Kuname Lodge is. We had the most unforgettable time staying here for four nights on our recent honeymoon. We loved the fact the lodge was small and intimate, which made for a relaxing experience. All of the staff were fantastic- friendly and very attentive and we were so well fed throughout our stay and had some delicious meals (the braai in particular!). Our room was comfortable with a viewing platform for us to watch the baboons and nyalas close by. The eight game drives we had during our stay were superb- we saw all of the big five at least twice as well as plenty of other animals, including cheetahs on foot. Adi was a wonderful guide and we will look back so fondly of our game drives with him and Sondy, our tracker. Thank you to Team Kuname for such a memorable four days!

We had such an amazing time at Becks - Johan & Adelina really took care of us so well and we were absolutely spoiled. They really took time to check in with every guests and I really enjoyed the conversations that we had at the lodge.
The food was amazing and every meal was so good & you could tell that the team really put alot of effort into the dining experience. The interior of the property was really pretty and cosy - we really enjoyed lounging in our rooms and common areas. The highlight of our stay at Becks was probably the game drives - we were super lucky to get Stefan (guide) and Alfred who were so knowledgable about the bush. While we got to see the animals up & close, I really appreciate how respectful the team was towards these animals.
I would highly recommend Becks to anyone who is looking to do a Safari stay and experience. You will not regret it!

Best price-performance ratio. Peaceful location, super nice and authentic furnishings. Comfortable room with great facilities. Extremely friendly hosts, they took a lot of time to answer all of our questions. There is a lot of attention to detail in this place, we felt very comfortable and would definitely recommend coming here. Perfect location for a stopover.

Liked so much about Makalali.
Liked so much about Makalali. The staff were all super friendly - they sang a South African Happy Birthday to a guest, and had such a good reception from all the guests, the following night they did some more songs. They went out of their way to be accommodating. The setting, the food, the rooms - just can't fault it at all. I've been recommending it to everyone I know. Well worth a visit.

Please let guests know how far you are from a met talked road. You finally come near the resort by R36.
When you turn off the main road, there is a boom gate, and then a dusty but well graded unmettaled road for 9 kms.
This brings you to a second boom gate. Another 11 kms from there in a poorly graded unmetalled road. The resort offers to pick you up from this gate. Take up this offer. The 11 kms is a difficult 25 minutes drive.
You then arrive at the Old “Reception”, which is NOT THE RECPTION. You transfer to a resort jeep (very helpful staff) which then takes you the last 2 kms to the resort.
All okay. But please warn the guests of these last 22 kms. After a long 450 Kms drive from Joburg, the last 22 are an unwelcome surprise.

The Guides were awesome, always looking out for animals. We saw 4 out of the Big5 (Leppard was missing) Sure we would have find some with a longer stay. It was very quiet (less people) but the staff was really friendly even though and always helpful.

The best bush experience of my life, It felt that I was in my own space connecting with nature.
The staff of Makalali from the cleaners to the rangers are so friendly, welcoming and clued up with their surroundings. Waking up to seeing elephant from your patio or hearing the sound of lions at night was an awesome experience. Very seldom do we get to see the big 5 and we sighted the big 5 and more over a 2 day period. I will definitely re-visit.
