I liked everything except for the food. We were made to pay for water, the water supplied in rooms was tap water which is not safe to drink. When we asked for complimentary water we found it billed upon checkout.
Boasting garden views, The little Club Getaway at The Hay Barn provides accommodation with patio, around 10 km from Midmar Dam.

Our Recent Overnight stay @ The Hay Barn Farm was Awesome...Situated in Ligetton in the Midlands. Very Easy to locate. We were road tripping so this was a perfect stayover.
As we entered the Accomodation gates we were greeted with friendly horses and off course Candice our host.
From our initial booking to our departure..Candice was an awesome host! Her warm hospitality, attention to detail & her genuine care for her guests made our trip even more special. She was always available on whatsapp or a phone call away and ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The Farm offers a perfect blend of comfort & natural beauty..
As you enter the Farm , we we were captivated by the Beautiful small fruit trees, very talkative birds, awesome rustic furniture & sculptures..if you have love creativity..you will be fascinated.
The Farm was not what we expected..its an absolutely clean farm with a few roosters , chickens, birds & horses.
The plus for us was that the Farm is pet friendly & we were quite happy that our dog could be accommodated too & it's ideal for a group of friends & family!
A small farm Store is on the premises for any of your needs for self catering.
The rooms were spacious, clean & beautifully decorated.
Definitely Farm Chic! We loved it!
We chose interleading rooms & each room had a coffee& tea station as well as a fireplace to keep us warm.
The beautiful Linen & beds were clean.
The most time spent was at the Club house..
It had everything to make us comfortable ....it was home away from home. There's a Kids play pen ..so everyone is accommodated for.
Thank you Candice, we are definitely coming back for a longer stay!
This Farm is highly recommended!

The Staff really go the extra mile to ensure that you are taken care of and comfortable. The units are clean and warm in the winter - with all the small details taken care of. The grounds are beautiful and it is close to everything on the meander

Lovely scenery although getting there you drive through squatters. However, centrally located and close to all facilities and activities. Lovely restaurant called La Lampara with great service and food. Highgate wine estate picnic was a great family activity. Quad bikes up the road at Checkpoint 103.

We loved the cottage.
We loved the cottage. It was just what we needed, pity it was just for 2 nights, Hopefully next time it will be longer. The river below was in full flow due to all the recent rains and more while we were there. We took a walk down to have a closer look. The area is lush and lovely, but then so is the whole of the Midlands Meander !!

Lidgetton in general is one of the nicer areas to travel through on the Midlands Meander. There are lots of shops close together and some very nice restaurants available. It also still contains a few gems like Culamoya Chimes and Swissland Cheese, which thankfully survived the lockdown.

The rooms are very private with their own patio and lovely view onto the lawns. They are very spacious and decorated upmarket with their own seating area. The king bed is so comfortable with lovely pillows and good quality white linen. The large bathroom has a walk-in shower and also modern fittings. The hotel itself has a lovely dining area, bar and the staff are super friendly and on point. The food was amazing! I would highly recommend Lythwood.
Very nice venue in the middle of nowhere. Come here for rest and tranquility. Nice and friendly staff. We could chose our room out of three. Diner was surprisingly good with high standards. We recommend this hotel for sure and hope to come back some day.
The staff were very helpful and efficient. The atmosphere quiet and restful. The views are superb. We have spent the best night in months in this hotel! Very impressed! Thank you very much! Will be back!
