The House of Braganza, hotel in Kommetjie

Featuring mountain views, The House of Braganza provides accommodation with water sports facilities, free bikes and a terrace, around 200 metres from Long Beach.

The location is ideal considering the general surroundings; short walk to the beach, beautiful views, 5min drive to Imhoff Farm with an amazing restaurant! Breakfast was absolutely amazing!!! Thanks to the our heroic host, Henobi! She is an absolute gem of a human being! I loved the vintage wooden décor and design, the fresh sea breeze sent from the Juliette balcony... It really exceeded my expectations.

Guinea Fowl House, hotel in Kommetjie

The property provided a truly tranquil and comfortable stay. I felt completely at home during my visit. The soothing sounds of frogs in the nearby vlei and the gentle waves of the ocean added to the already serene atmosphere. Michele was exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. She is a talented artist, and the delicious breakfast she prepared was served on her beautiful handmade ceramic dishware. On a chilly, rainy evening, she generously offered me a warm bowl of homemade soup, which I greatly appreciated. The bedroom was cozy and inviting, with soft, comfortable bedding and even a heated blanket for extra warmth. The room offered a lovely view overlooking the ocean and vlei, and it was an easy walking distance to the beach as well as local restaurants and shops. In addition, there was an ample selection of books available to enjoy during my stay. The overall experience was incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating. I would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a peaceful, restorative getaway.

The location and view was amazing, and the bed was super comfy. Such a lovely home cooked breakfast with a good selection of continental elements and your choice of hot cooked options. Gillian was so helpful and even allowed me to keep my bags safe at the property after I had checked out while I was on a day trip.

Sadly, the coast is ruined by the stench of decaying kelp – it is absolutely overwhelming! On the positive side, though, watching the sunset across the sea was lovely. The restaurants give generous portions and are not at all overpriced such as in and around Cape Town. I’m not sure I’d return to Kommetjie, I think, from what I’ve seen of Scarborough, I would far prefer that area.

Kommetjie is a welcoming town with beautiful beaches, friendly locals and great sightseeing drives, hiking opportunities and tourist locations nearby. The Scone Shack (Scarborough) and Imhoff Farm (Kommetjie) are musts to add to your itenary and the restaurants (takeaways and sit-down) serve delicious food! Definitely try KOM CHOW (Asian) and Umami (sushi)!

Although we live in Somerset West, Kommetjie has never been on our 'stay over' list. But needing somewhere relatively close to CT (for the 'workers'), surfing (for the visitor) and not a long drive (for the parents). A large family home with sufficient space and sleeping for four adults was the main criterion. The Aloha setting looked idea without breaking the bank. As it turned out an ideal choice. Accommodation and surf, rather than Kommetjie dictated. The spectacular beach setting makes the place - otherwise......

Modest rooms but very comfortable. Service was excellent! Breakfast was yummy. Location is central to Kommetjie activities which are family friendly. We were also impressed with the local restaurants and what they had on offer. If traveling in a group, try and call the Inn first. You may qualify for a discount. Overall, an enjoyable 3-night stay :)

Lovely guesthouse at the end of a cul-de-sac. A few minutes walk to the beaches. Kommetjie is a lovely laid back place and Michelle's guesthouse is a real find. We wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back soon.
