The hotel is beautiful and a credit to the family. We travelled as a family and had two wonderful rooms with balconies, one with an amazing view of the lagoon. The little private lounge for residents was a nice touch. They also have a lovely restaurant and coffee bar serving the best coffee. We would recommend.

We enjoyed walking over to Thesen island and taking a boat...
We enjoyed walking over to Thesen island and taking a boat trip around the harbour out to the Knysna heads.
We hired a car and drove to Knysna Elephant park which was a lovely experience. Walking with the elephants and their keepers. Then having breakfast at the park cafe. After leaving we drove a short distance along to Pletenburg Bay which is definitely worth a visit too. We stayed 3 nights which was about the right amount of time

It was lovely down by the lagoon.
It was lovely down by the lagoon. We will go back there again as we only had one complete day at the accommodation and we also went along the coast to Plettenberg Bay. There is a lot more to see in Knysna.

What a place.
What a place. I guess one of the best places where you can explore most beautiful part of the Garden Route.
However, please plan and do your research beforehand. For e.g., there are quite a few charted boats and running multiple cruise etc for whale watching. Please do some research in advance to find the right one.

I love Knysna - lived there for 2 years 30 years ago.
I love Knysna - lived there for 2 years 30 years ago. We stayed over in Hunters Home area, and it was beautiful and green. We ate at a couple of places. We loved Siroccos - the food was excellent; staff were friendly, loved the atmosphere. It was full and buzzing...we love that!!
I would go to Tapa's for a drink as the view is great. It is more of a pub restaurant.
We ran a race on the Saturday and the festival was on Leisure Island - which I can highly recommend. The stalls were the best I have seen in a long time. It was well organised.
We are not a young couple, but we loved walking on the island.
The best part was that the sun was shining!!!

Very beautiful place.
Very beautiful place. Nice restaurants with a number of activities. Would highly recommend it for group visits or even with your partner.
Sirocco restaurant, the nest cafe were good food places we tried. Coney Beach was also a spectacle. We also did a boat cruise with Knysna adventures and it was exceptional.

Beacon House is out of this world. It is a gem!!! Located in the eastern head, in close proximity to popular restaurants, lagoon beach, and heads' view points. The apartment we stayed in was exquisite, from its well appointed bedrooms, to comfy seating areas, and to wrap around expansive balcony overlooking the ocean and the lagoon .
Ohh the staff is amazing. Always available to help. Prompt, proactive and on point!
We have made ourselves a promise to come back to this place again and again when we visit Knysna!
This is not the place if you're expecting hotel standards and convenience. BUT if you want to experience the Knysna forest in a raw and beautiful way, this is definitely the place to be. Amazing walks and places to explore, places to swim and even a warm clay bath under the stars!
The TP's are basic, but everything you need. Wood is delivered when needed at a very reasonable price and the staff was extremely helpful and always available. We will definitely be back again, 3 days wasn't enough to experience everything!
The staff were super friendly and helped us with questions. The location was near to the waterfront and perfect for exploring Knysna on foot. Breakfast was in the sister hotel across the road. It was pretty decent although there was no gluten free bread. There was on site parking which was really appreciated.
The hotel is a nice hotel in the north of Knysna around 1km north of the waterfront. They offer a great buffet breakfast with warm food a la carte. The rooms were warm with TV and a collection of plates of cutlery. The staff were delightful.
