It was spacious, secure and well equipped. Our hosts graciously left milk and drinking water in the fridge as well as rusks, tea and coffee and a lovely bottle of local wine. It was much appreciated.

We had a lovely stay at Avonsrus. It is just what you need after a long day on the road - clean, fresh and friendly. It is very comfortable that each room has its own bathroom. The braai area outside is also great. We visited Augrabies Waterfalls and it was very worthwhile. Even in the drought it is still a spectacle to behold and much more water than we expected. On Jaco's recommendation we also drove to Moon Rock and Oranjekom. This will probably not be possible if it is very wet since we crossed a few low water bridges with some water over the road, but we enjoyed the drive and sights very much. Oranjekom particularly is a beautiful site.
Pink padstal marvelous food, great service
The trip to the falls was great also great food

The hotel is in dire need of of a revamp, especially the room that we got.
The bathroom and toilet is in the bedroom, ie no privacy when using the toilet. The second bathroom with the toilet and shower has no ventilation ie no opening window or fan!
This is definately not a four star establishment. Not even a two star!

We enjoyed our dinner at The Rose.
We enjoyed our dinner at The Rose. Ten of us unexpectedly dropped in for dinner 20minutes before closing. They did not blink an eye and served a delicious meal for each of us freshly cooked. Our stay at Palmhof Charlets were wonderful and they exceeded our expectations. Die Pienkpadstal always calls us back every time we pass through the town for more home made jam and local arts and crafts
A wooden hut on a small farm about 5km outside Kakamas that has been transformed into an airy, magical, super-comfortable space. Among many other wonderful touches it even has its own small swimming pool right next to the deck.
Great location. Everything is there that you need. The place is neat and clean. Friendly people and always willing to help. I keep coming back. It must be one of the best places in Kakamas to stay.
It was comfortable and very peaceful. After traveling around Kakamas then we turn home. It give you the home feeling thanks host it was amazing experience. 😘😍
