Beautiful hikes on mountain and indigenous forest, friendly helpful staff, good food. Beautiful calm and peaceful spot. Quaint comfortable cottage. Kids loved the horse lesson and short ride.

Amazing value for money, the view, and the location was perfect. We went in the winter season and the rooms were ever so warm, and the rooms were in good condition and well maintained. They were willing to accommodate our every request - especially being vegetarian, the chief was very accommodating. Unfortunately being winter we weren't able to use the pool outside the room, but in the warmer summer periods a place we will most definitely come back to.

The views and accommodation was great,but the roads are terrible they 3kms gravel it was more like 20kms of gravel road which was covered with rocks it really was not a pleasant drive it should be attended to asap and let us know way in advance

If you want to get away from the negativity of civilization, want to be refreshed and want to connect with nature while purifying and recalibrating your system, Dargle forest lodge is a place to visit.
Midlands meander KZN beautiful environment, mountain rich area, awesome farm atmosphere, very calming, nice settlement preparing for the ultimate human race in pietermaritzburg 3 consecutive years next year, will revisit anytime

Beautiful country setting with clean air and rolling hills. I stayed at Tanglewood Country Hotel which I highly recommend. Had supper at Post Postino which has amazing wood fire pizza and live music on most evenings. Dessert at Piggly Wiggly belgium chocolate cafe (just 10mins from the hotel). And for activities, the Karkloof canopy tour (40mins from the hotel) which I which could have lasted the whole day. I'll definitely be returning to the same places to spend longer!

The area is a great escape from the city life.
The area is a great escape from the city life. Mostly friendly people. If you dont eat pork be very wary and mindful of the fact that Dargle is predominantly pork serving.
Driving around Dargle is a gem. The Mandela Capture Site was a highlight of our journey - filled with history and so informative.
The quaint restaurants are a pleasure to look at.
Overall, a pleasing trip, 1 or 2 not so nice feels from the people, but the overall vibe was good.
