Fabulous place with amazing hosts. Dinner is free if you stay on a Sunday night. Their meals were tasty and comforting. The location is right near the beach. They also organise excursions to local sites and activities (hikes, cultural tours) so it's a plus to be here. We also appreciated their eco-tourism consciousness and mindfulness of their local community and environmentally friendly practices.

We instantly fell in love with the view it was amazing at night the sky full of stars and the during the day the sea so bright it hurts your eyes, this was amazing. The breakfast was awesome, and delicious Steve knows what he is doing, and we would definitely come and visit again. On our day of check out we saw dolphins from our patio as they were playing and hunting, it was an amazing experience.

They really tried to accommodate us under such difficult conditions. With water and electricity outage, but they hosted us with warm hearts.
We did not spend enough time in Coffee Bay (only one-night).
We did not spend enough time in Coffee Bay (only one-night). For that we feel we need to return and spend at least three nights. It's a rustic place for nature lovers. It's in the village so you can experience the local way of life at your own pace. There are also interesting trails to hike and other adventure activities (fishing, surfing, etc) to tackle. There is no diving.

If you visit “ Hole in the wall”.
If you visit “ Hole in the wall”. Avoid going through Coffee Bay. We drove through Coffee Bay 3rd July 2024 , it was terrifying. We were in 4x4 with a trailer. On our return trip to the N2 , locals at our accommodation advised us to use an alternative road… 5th of July 2024. It was so much better. Definitely the road I will always use. We supported the local guides; sales ladies etc. They need the money and they were helpful and were selling beautiful hand-made stuff. Next time we will bring a bag of dog food , so many stray dogs 😭😭

Coffee bay offers a beautiful and tranquil break away from the city hustle and bustle.
Stayed at Coram DEO, hostess and excellent menu was worth every penny
Feeling of safety makes it all the more worth the 10hour trip
The beaches offered great swims, especially the bay in front of the camping site

Sight seeing...the Hole in the Wall and the Baby Hole in the Wall! The roads to the place need speedy attention! They are just bad to be used by people who are supposed to be bringing economic opportunities to the connunities there. The Eastern Cape government must act differently and disappoint us by constructing that road.

The drive was okay regardless of the fish ponds on the road (potholes) that slacked us down. The sunset was beautiful with the mountain views and the weather was beautiful too. We had difficulties with our GPS but with the help of the local residents who were very friendly, we managed to get there safely. The hotel has it's own Restaurant and another Restaurant facing the beach for a more relaxed afternoon. We booked a one night stay and regretted it the following day as we wished we could have stayed longer, next time we need the entire weekend!! Very friendly staff, delicious seafood buffet we had on the the evening of arrival and enjoyed the breakfast too!

We had an amazing time at Sunset in Coffee Bay. Lindie is a wonderful host, she made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She arranged a local guide to do some hikes with us in the area, and he was pretty great. She is also an excellent cook, her meals were AMAZING! Even if you are not staying there, I totally recommend eating at Sunset, just let her know with time that you are coming! Awesome place that made our wild coast experience even better, highly recommended!
Belinda welcome was amazing. The had a welcome message at reception for us. Introduced us to the chef and walked us to our room.
The rooms were so spacious, with the pool just on our door step. The ocean views were amazing and there is a private beach 500m from the hotel.
One of the best venue we have booked at this year. Most definitely coming back for a longer stay.
The friendlyness and the location of the hotel. Also the food was fantastic and some local tips were given. Everything went super easy going.
In a lot of previous reviews there was spoken about the roads towards coffee bay. These have now been fully tarred and there is no hassle reaching coffee bay anymore.
