Stunning Location with very welcoming and engaged hosts. Nico went with us on amazing Heike! Many many thanks for this. Plus they grow their own organic Roibos tea that is indeed delicious.
We had a spectacular stay from start to finish.
The food was excellent, breakfast great, lunch, and mid-day tea awesome.
The upgrade on the room was well received, thanks to the team.
The tranquility and peace of the lodge are spectacular.
We felt safe at all times; the lodge is delicately lighted at night with a super silent generator available if needed.
The walks into the mountains were absolutely spectacular, especially the waterfall walk. We experienced numerous sightings of antelope, with a very special occasion to see fresh Cape Leopard droppings and spoor.
The walks are not well used, so attention to the route is needed.
We had ample firewood supplied to the room with a smoke-free fireplace, thus keeping the room warm and clean.
The Lodge rates are expensive however the value for money was well received

The town was quite shabby and needed a proper clean up.
The town was quite shabby and needed a proper clean up. The stores were serviceable and had the right merchandise for quick purchases. Garages appeared to be too close together. The roads to and from the town were wonderful and setting splendid. It would be a beautiful sight if the town could present clean buildings with fresh paint.

A great location for a overnight travel stop when travelling to or from Cape Town, Namibia or Cederberg.
The town has a long history, with many well preserved buildings from the 1800's.
The conveniently located Bella Louise restaurant has a most delicious menu, lots of mouth-water dishes.

It is a wonderful little platteland town with stunning surroundings. The views of the Cedarberg Mountains is uplifting to one's spirit. Warm, hospitable people.
We dined at Bella Louise Restaurant and the setting was just perfect, all protocols duly followed, good food and friendly, helpful staff.
Clanwilliam is an easy place to get around and one would really have to go to great length to lose one's way.

Clanwilliam is looking rather unkempt.
Clanwilliam is looking rather unkempt. Many properties look as if they need a good dose of TLC.
There is not too much to see or do in Clanwilliam. Unfortunately for us, we had already been through Pakhuis Pass to TRavellers Rest and then via Biedouw Valley to Wupppertal to see where they make Veldskoene, but unfortunately, it was closed due to COVID infections.
The wild flowers were in proliferation in the veld wherever we looked. It was well worth the trip on the gravel road.
The unusal rock formations in Pakhuis Pass make the trip worth while. We made frequent stops to take photographs and simply gaxe at the splendour of the formations.
We had a most enjoyable evening at a restaurant - Michael's on Park. It is well worth going there if ever in Clanwilliam. Food was great, atmosphere was great and the venue is steeped in history.

We were looking for somewhere to stayover for the night as were just passing through Clanwilliam. We opted for something not in the town and didn't really know where the property. To our joy we discovered it down a lovely gravel road near the town. We arrived as the sunset so had an opportunity to see the amazing location nestled into the mountains. Our little cottage was just lovely and right next to the river. Heaven!
Host Adéle is one of the most heartwarming hosts we have ever met on all our travels. She really knows how to make you feel welcome at her place in Clanwilliam.
The privat house has two bedrooms, good wifi, privat locked parkingspace and you could easily spent a few days here to disvover the surroundings with all the tips she provides.
Highly recommended!
We had a comfortable night at Little Gem. It's a short drive into the main road of Clanwilliam and also the restaurant we went to for dinner. The hostess was friendly and welcoming, the bed was very comfortable, and the facilities were good.
The location is perfect with a beautiful view of the Clanwilliam Dam. The house offered everything we wanted, including soft and comfortable matressses.
