Our stay at Geo trial lodge was horrible, the owners Mark and Candice checked us inn late at 20:30 whereas we arrived at 15:00. They are racist, they shouted at us,gave us a wrong room. The microwave was not working, no tea, no small kitchen as their ads says, they woke us early at 09:00 saying we must check out. I will never go back to Barberton ever again and I wish black people could also save themselves the humiliation and their money for other places. Candice and Mark are Racist, period. I even told them that am going to rate them and Mark said he'll delete my rating

The town is suffering the decay common to most rural towns in South Africa. The town offers many attractions and tours for the traveler. Of particular interest is the Heritage tour of the museums and old buildings.

I was playing a Bowls Competition over the weekend and stayed over one night. Wouldn't recommend Barberton other than for a sporting event, hiking, golf or maybe visiting relatives or friends. No decent restaurants although there are maybe better options 20 minutes drive from town. Spectacular views of surrounding mountains.

Unfortunately we saw nothing except our accommodation as the roads are in such a bad state one does not dare to drive around. Really expected more from this town. Until the roads are repaired I would not recommend anyone visiting this town.

    Small town.

Small town. Not much to do… we lived in Barberton for 2 years and do not see it as a place where i would book a holiday but good enough to stay over for a night or so. No favourite places. We had lunch at The Very old Jock pub because we did not know where else to go.

Barberton is going backwards, over run by foreign nationals dominating every roadway and store frontage - there is nothing quaint and historical left and it looks like the town is not well maintained.
