A classic in Luganville since 1975, Hotel Santo Vanuatu is a family-run hotel with a relaxed retro feel, and casual and unpretentious island service. It is a step back into the retro 70s!

It was so nice to come down to breakfast each morning and be personally greeted by Gaetan and his friendly staff. A perfect start to the day. The tropical fruit and pastries and freshly brewed coffee were so nice.

A great place to stay ! We had such a blast staying at Aore breeze. The caretaker Russell, boat drivers John and Rosian and the truck driver Tony really made our stay on the island to be so much fun and full of laughter!

Perfect beachfront location with little reefs to snorkel and dugongs right outside the room. Amazing staff and little restaurant.
Would definitely recommend the beachfront fares.

If you are going to Santo, I would not advise to stay in Luganville but rather a resort on the East Coast. Not much happening in Luganville and not close to any of the attractions. If you want a rental car, book it early and preferably a 4WD as attractions are via dirt roads and lots of potholes.

To be fair on Luganville we were there for one day on a Sunday so everything was shut. But our room wasn’t an apartment so we couldn’t even cook noodles or anything, we literally ate crisps for dinner that night. I didn’t feel safe at night in Luganville. It’s way more rural than Port Vila. But it’s right where the boat to Ratua Island is which is why we were there. However I hear the rest of Santo is incredible. I just didn’t get to see any good parts of Luganville.

This town is small and just developing so is not very touristy which suited us fine. This part of Vanuatu is quite poor so facilities are not five star in most places. We enjoyed this, expect activities to be guide expensive, but worth it.

Our trip was a bit too long since we only dived Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
The weather was good the first three days then it rained and no Sun for three days.
Five days would have made it for us.
Remember there’s a plane going firecylindrede from Brisbane on Tuesday.
The property was lovely and clean. Esline and John were lovely, the locals were friendly and helpful. We took a day trip with Esline and would recommend as we could adapt the day to what we wanted.
Loved that response was trying to improve the coral outside the property and could tell. Some of the better snorkeling we had done in Vanuatu. Wish more places would invest in the coral.
Would like to see hammocks put up to chill in.
When they said beachfront. It’s right on the beach. Seperate kitchen and living room was nice. We live in Vanuatu and just wanted a brake away and we know idea how beautiful the place is. The house is nice as advertised a farm house it’s the beach and farm behind which are truely beautiful and Neto Bay for a BBQ and swim was very cool
We loved the staff - the general manager was very helpful and very kind in accommodating our forced change of plan, and all the hotel team so friendly. We loved the location, with the sound of the sea breeze in the trees outside our room.
Hotel Santo is an authentic and historic hotel, with is history linked to diving at “President Cooligde”.
Hotel Santo is Vanuatu’s Raffles hotel. Staying there is the best base for Santo adventures.
