I arrived last minute as another hotel booking fell through, this hotel were able to find me a room at short notice. they let me have a room to shower in and leave my bags in while my room was being prepared. also the staff were very helpful and friendly and let me park my motorcycle in the lobby overnight. the hotel is beachfront and just across the road from the great beach. Highlands Coffee right next door.

As this was the first time I visited Sam Son beach and stayed at this Hotel, I should give some "generous" comments. The sea air and view are excellent, the weather was naturally pleasant during my week although I could not swim and walk close to the sea, on the beach (due to the signpost of "Forbid swimming" plus high rise in the morning with strong wind and so on.
Does Booking like to check all basic condition of rooms of Hotels, in your network, from distance/ your current office in a remote country beforehand, not after customer's comments, or do not need to re-examine the situation?
(I have been renting few places and begin to observe some similarities between discounted Hotels (in SGN, Nhatrang, Sam Son, Thanh Hoa, Dalat....) under Bookings supervision.
In previous years, I also stayed in bigger Hotels in Saigon, Hà Nội, Nhatrang - outside Booking's networks - and consequently, I could like something from conditions/ services of (Booking's related Hotels did not deliver fully as) other more expensive Hotels (e.g. Muong Thanh Hotel, close Ha Long Bay, last year).

Sam Son is getting back its popularity as the most beautiful beach in the North. Hotels and accommodation facilities are sprawling there, so it should be easy to find decent places to stay, compared to a few years a go. You can stay in more fancy hotels such as FLC (modern) or Van Chai (has a better taste, though the facility is a bit older), or one of many 3- or 4-star hotels newly built along the beachfront. Morning walk along the beach followed by a swim in the sea is highly-recommended. Commuting by electric cars is fun too. It costs about 150k VND for a trip around the city. Seafood restaurants are abundant, just go for the one with a good crowd.
