Though the location was perfect—near the historical sites I’d come to see and situated on a beautiful beach—the management failed to inform me of the periodic blackouts. In the fierce heat having neither an air conditioner nor fan was more than an inconvenience—it was positively dangerous, not to mention there was no electricity for charging your phone. Though the owner in Hanoi was dismissive, the on-site manager did everything in his power to render the situation less awful—but there was only so much he could do. The electricity eventually went on but it was mighty rough for a while. That being said the locals of the area were thoughtful and engaging, food options were great (if you like seafood) and the swimming was outstanding. The homestay’s amenities can charitably be described as minimal. I would seriously consider staying elsewhere if you’re sensitive to the heat or require much in the way of comfort—it was more than just a little rough. I must again praise the manager—a nice guy who did everything he could to make my stay pleasant—but there was only so much he could do; he worked with what he had which wasn’t much. It was a great location but an iffy place to stay.

You won't meet many foreign tourists here but the local people are very friendly and happy to chat with Google Translate.
The city market is also worth a visit and the local food stalls are great.
This is a pleasant city well away from the usual tourist circuit but conveniently on the main Hanoi - Saigon railway line.
Good, clean accommodation available.
Local buses are reliable and there's plenty of taxis.

The city is very interesting, not at all many tourists, authentical local life. Have walked a lot through and around the area, you can experience how people live there. Market, shops, restauranrs, caffes, a city to discover.

1. Ly Son island, which is famous with beautiful landscape, beaches and historical points.
2. My Khe beach, a 3-4km long beach, white sand. Not excellent beach like Hoi An beaches but it's good enough.
3. My Son memorial: a place to memorize how crucial Americal army is to Vietnamese.
4. Thien An pagoda: a big pagoda where Huynh Thuc Khang's tombe locate. The road to pagoda is cool.
2,3,4 is on the road from Quang Ngai city to Sa Ky
Dont go to Chau Sa old citadal as it's remnant left nothing to view.
I wish i could visit Sa Huynh salt field but i did not have time.
Xe om in Quang Ngai is not friendly by the way. They try to cut my throat as I am not local, so ask for price before you ride.
