Stay at M Hotel for 4star hotel walking distance to night market. Anything that says 3star is more like 1.5 or 2…AVOID!! We lost a total of $300USD having to leave places that were terrible, horrible stains, hard mattresses, unclean.
Eat at Sugar Fusion Bakery for melt in your mouth breakfast croissants. And try their cold press peach coffee. Island Coffee further south makes a delicious egg cream coffee and one that comes with coconut crisps in it.
Kien Xay has locations across the island, stop in for the soup and a sugar cane drink (I swear it tastes better than the street market versions).
We did the 3 island tour with John’s tours. The first two stops are strictly to snorkel, there’s no beach. And I did not enjoy the 3rd stop at May Rut Trong island, it seems to only exist for them to drop off tourists for IG photo ops and force you to spend money. The loungers aren’t free and it’s a more crowded beach than anywhere else we went by ourselves. The lunch on the boat was delicious and the ride was amazing on a beautiful day.
The VinBus is free to get around and has an app to see routes. It has AC and WiFi but we stood most rides because it was full.
Ocsen Beach Bar is a beautiful spot for sunset dining (in the sand or not) with music, hookah, and helium balloons!
Grand world and Sunset town are European-inspired property developments. Neither seems all the way complete and not fully occupied yet. However, they have great entertainment if you’re into nightly fireworks or Bridgerton/Phantom of the opera type performances.
A lot of restaurants have beach facing dining areas that you won’t see when you’re walking past them at the street. Just go in and ask or walk along the beach as much as possible so you don’t miss out!

I was very surprised at this island.
I was very surprised at this island. It has good infrastructure, roads and paths. Great theme park and water park in the north. Also in the south. It would be amazing to bring kids here. Good aquarium too. I stayed mostly in the Sun Set Town and had a nice 1 bed apartment. I was happy here with a view of the sea and jungle. It was a touristy part of the island so you have access to lots of restaurants and water shows which are amazing with fireworks. But you can also go out of town and into the real vietnam and enjoy this too. I enjoyed eating lobster, fish, baguette sandwhiches and pancakes. Its a really nice island to explore. I recommend to hire a scooter to get around. The roads can be busy. I will be going back at some point! Oh and the best sunsets are here!! OMG.

It is an island off the coast of Vietnam. We went as we knew the weather would be good & we wanted a few days rest & relaxation after travelling in Vietnam. It did exactly what we wanted it to do.
It is slightly more expensive than the rest of Vietnam.
There is plenty to do & we hired scooters as we felt it would be safer as there is less traffic. The island is easy to get around. The airport is only 15 minutes from the main tourist areas of Duong To & Doung Dong.
There isn't much in the way of markets - we went to the night market in Duong Dong, but it was very lacking in comparison to Hanoi & HCMC.
The beaches are great & the weather was excellent.
It is a nice place for a relaxing break.

I wish we had more time to explore this beautiful island, apparantly some of the other beaches are even more beautiful than the one we visited. We chose this hotel at the end of our holiday to relax and it exceeded our expectations. We wanted somewhere peaceful to relax and enjoy the pool, the beach and the warm sunshine and we are so pleased we discovered this hotel. It is so clean, so beautiful and the staff are so friendly and helpful. This was the perfect place for guests wanting peace and quiet. We could not believe how reasonable the rates per night were, outstanding value for money.

Parts are very busy but grand world has suffered from the backlash of the virus. But it's a hidden gem and worth a visit as it's beaches are beautiful the food and beverages are cheap and whilst the service and attention to detail is still in its infancy you really can't go wrong.

However, if you are looking to experience Vietnamese culture, there are better places. Phu Quoc is highly catered to tourists

A wonderful gem of a place, on the beach near bars and lovely fish BBQ restaurants but in a quiet oasis. The hotel has a wonderful varied breakfast, all the usuals and also Viet, Chinese and Korean food. There’s a great lunch menu for everyone and they put on a wonderful buffet of fish meat and salads every other night. There’s rooms whilst not huge were fine for us with great hot water shower , fridge, tv and complementary water each day. It’s in a location that in .5 years will be much much busier so get in now.
Service of front desk manager was excellent . I had some complains about hotel service while i was staying sailing club. when I deliver this complain to front office manager, she was very helpful to solve the problem or compensate the problem. it was surprisingly nice gesture which indeed how 5 hotel should handle the problems. \
i think when we stay at hotels ,,, even 5 star hotel as guest we will have some problem and complains . but sailing club resort is willing to deal and help the problem.
Literally on the beach. Fabulous friendly staff. Large spacious room with twin beds in a beach style hut. Very clean . Enormous breakfast included and great seafood options for dinner. The pool is big and enough sunbeds to accommodate guests .
Next to the Mango Bay resort on a beautiful beach away from the built up area of Duong Dong . I can’t recommend highly enough . I will definitely come back .
property is right on the beach and a swimming pool is a big plus everything is fantastic house keeping is very good very near to everything and they rent motorbikes at a good price. it’s a unique hotel everything you want you will get it sorry I forgot names but the guys from reception helped us with booking 3 island trip and motorbikes so thank u very much i will come back again
Room is spacious enough, with affordable price. The hotel is located in the very centre of Duong Dong, yet could be very chill and quiet at the same time. The pool is lovely.
