In a town with limited options this turned out to be an excellent choice:
Room: we opted for a Deluxe Room and it was very nice: spacious, clean, and brand spanking new. The bed was large and extremely comfortable. The shower was perfect, Wi-Fi worked well and there were sufficient electrical outlets. A mini fridge was an additional bonus, as were the wall to wall windows, which provided a nice breeze and a good view of the street below.
Staff: friendly, cheerful and helpful. As an English speaker language was sometimes a barrier, but not an insurmountable one.
Location: perfect. Wherever you choose to stay, make sure it's near the waterfront park with its vibrant promenade and bustling street food scene.
Overall, perhaps not a memorable stay but very good one, and truly outstanding value for the money.

It has a great vibe, busy without being overwhelming, a nice little promenade and park along the Mekong and a pretty good dining and street food scene. There were some Westerners, but it felt completely untouristy. On the downside, other than our Tra Su Forest and Cham Village tour and the local market, there’s not a hell of a lot to do.

Small town.
Small town. No Grab service in Chau Doc. went to Tra Su cajuput forest by Taxi, in a remote area and hard to get transportation to the forest, taxi driver waited ( I didn't ask him to wait) he wanted to make more money with the return to town trip. Basically it does not have the necessary public infrastructure to support tourists.

Chau Doc is visited mainly by tourists crossing the border between Vietnam and Cambodia. Other than a few hotel, there's not a lot to see. Although it's a nice little town with nice street food.

The location was perfect for us. We were catching the boat to Cambodia in the morning and the dock is at the hotel. The view from the room was stunning - straight up the river! Beautiful outdoor area at river.
Superb breakfast with many choices in a buffet style.
Helpful signage in the rooms, namely that the topical climate means mosquitos, however, we were not bothered by them.
Really nice and friendly staff, room was clean, well made and the hotel is in a great location, not far from the ferry landing, you can walk it in 5 mins. Also close to banks if you need to exchange money (not open if you arrive late from Phnom Penh - also don’t exchange from Riels so make sure you have dollars).
The Hotel is brand new and beautiful. Also the breakfast was very good 😋
It’s in the middle of the town and very nearby the ferry Port.
Ms Ly helped us a lot and was very really sympathetic ☺️ She arranged our Transfer to Phu Quoc and gave us a lot of useful advice 👌🏼
