Converted from the compound of some ganglord from years gone by, this place is quite an experience! Beautifully fronted hotel, gorgeous room - possibly the nicest I have ever stayed in.
This was a step up from the kind of places I usually hit, but I thought it might be worth it for our one night in Tashkent. I was right. It was VERY MUCH worth it. The four-poster bed in the suite - and the huge bathroom - were great fun.
It isn't quite like staying at the Hilton or The Savoy or the like, but for a few more quid than your average mid-price place, this is definitelky worth splashing out on.
The buffet breakfast was very good, the staff (like everyone in Uzbekistan) were lovely and... we took a load of photos just wandering around the hotel courtyard.
Location? Hard to say. Depends what you want to be near. Caravan (the best restaurant we found in the whole city) is only a ten minute was away, as is the nearest tube station. Anything else and the staff will sort you a taxi.
