Yuma is very hot in the summer, but, it is a great place to stay during the winter months and has a lot of places to eat out. They have
a lot of shopping stores to get what ever you desire. If you need to get medical prescriptions or just medicine in general it is close to the Mexican border and you can go across the boarder and get it much cheaper. Never a problem bring it back across the boarder. You can even go across the boarder with just the new updated driver's license, the one with the security star in the upper corner, if you don't happen to have a passport. Los Algodones is an interesting little Mexican town that has a number of Specialty Dentist offices and other professional businesses that seem to provide quality workmanship. That includes dental implants. Dental implants seem to run between $1,500 to $2,400 a piece depending where you go. Some of the offices even take American insurance.

Been going to Yuma for the past 45 years on the dove opener.
Been going to Yuma for the past 45 years on the dove opener. This hotel is middle of the road, continental breakfast was meager, staff was nice but didn't replenish soap daily had to ask for that and towels as we needed them. Priced higher than it's value with all the taxes and fees totaled up.

We lived in Yuma for 24 plus years and this was a return trip. It has much to offer locals and visitors. Arizona Donuts and Mostly Muffins are places to check out for goodies. Lots of great Mexican food and beautiful places to see, as walk along the river. Little known fact is that it is the lettuce capitol of the world.

I came here to go to the dentist in Los Algodones.
I came here to go to the dentist in Los Algodones. Yuma is a larger city than I thought, I think about 92k population. It's fairly peaceful. Retirees and RV'ers abound. Very nice in the winter. Super hot in the summer. Didn't stay long enough to give a fair review.

There is a wide variety of things to do and see in Yuma.
There is a wide variety of things to do and see in Yuma. The Colorado R. State Historic Park is very well done. Loved the Autentico Sapore Italiano restaurant there. The walk along the river through restored wetlands is great. A trip to Martha's Gardens for a tour of the date palm plantation and a date shake make a perfect day. The Yuma Armed Forces Park is a good place to sit and contemplate after reading names of all the people from that area who have served. Las Delicias De Mi Abuela is a new very friendly absolutely delicious place to eat real Mexican food and relax
The most disappointing thing of all was the amount of trash blowing all over the place, especially on the wetlands walkway - NOT a place one would expect to find any garbage at all.

Nice older hotel in excellent condition- large excellent pool - free parking right at the door - no food available in the hotel but nextdoor restaurant very good. for an evening meal The hotel should have a light breakfast and or coffie should be available. The place they sent us to across the streey (ten minute walk) had a bargain breakfast for $6.95 and changed $3.95 for coffiee. Thus not the batgain it seemed.
The Hotel is due for a remodel. I'm not a complainer, so I'll just ask corporate management to come see for themselves. It's just due.
That said, I was not disappointed. A perfectly fine stay for the money.
