We love that this is a reasonably-priced, pet-friendly facility! The decor is a retro style, while maintaining modern comforts. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and we slept very well. We enjoyed the rural scenery around Winchester very much. Sherando park, Virginia state arboretum, Several farm markets, and the countryside in general. We enjoyed the Alamo draft theatre and wished that we had an opportunity to go to the outdoor drive in. Our only (slight) disappointment was that the 2 block Winchester outdoor shopping mall seemed to be losing some storefronts.

The room was spacious and the staff were polite/nice. The bed was comfortable, but where the breakfast is located is a problem it’s too small and not enough for the size of the hotel. There was a roach that I seen and killed so I know that is being addressed since I read a review about that happening. Overall I was satisfied with my stay.

I've stayed at a Tru once before and loved it but this one in Winchester was even better. Comfortable, efficient room, awesome shower, huge TV. They have a pool, exercise room and a pool table. Breakfast is perfect. Lots of hot and cold options. The lobby has lots of seating options too - tables, couches, cubby holes, chair swings. Staff was friendly. Perfect location right off Interstate 81.

The downtown area of Winchester was nice.
The downtown area of Winchester was nice. Our favorite thing was the tour of the Jackson Headquarters and Museum. We used Winchester as a base to visit several historic sites in the Shenandoah Valley.

A beautiful, historic city with many well maintained Civil War era buildings. There is a public mall with many businesses and plaques describing buildings and the role they played in the war. The dogwoods were in bloom, which made everything look beautiful.
We ate dinner at Violino Ristorante Italiano - 181 N Loudoun St. Authentic Italian food - it was fabulous! Pasta was homemade and delicious. It's small - so recommend a reservation.
Nice shops in the historic area too.

The room was attractive, clean, and comfortable; the decor was fitting for this historic, early 20th century hotel. The location is perfect for exploring the historic areas of Winchester by foot; it's walking distance from many of the historic sites and from a number of good restaurants. There is a surface parking lot and parking deck adjacent to the rear of the building for hotel guests with accessible access to the building.
Usual breakfast items offered, delicious coffee, didn’t try hot breakfast.
Liked having hangars inside bedroom instead of in a closet so no items were forgotten. Comfy beds. Clean.
