Hilton Garden Inn Milford, hotel in West Haven

This Milford hotel is 3 miles from Silver Sands State Park Beach. The nonsmoking hotel offers an indoor pool, free Wi-Fi and a restaurant serving an American breakfast.

The smell (air fresheners, maybe) was too overwhelming. Furnishings were very worn The comfy bed was the only plus. The hot breakfast consisted of an automated pancake maker, no eggs or meat. We were there at 9am, no one was attending the breakfast bar.

We went to visit Univ of New Haven.

We went to visit Univ of New Haven. Hotel was ok, but the price was great. There were many food options within 10 mins. The area was not so nice. Very run down, very dirty and seedy. Univ of New Haven was tucked into a residential neighborhood that was very unsightly and we felt it flowed over into the University. The University seemed old, dated and in bad need of a face lift

I check in for two.nights and bring a guess voucher for one night they end up changing me for the free night, , I call the mng name Robert send him all proof of the over charge and he refuse to do a refund even know he get all proof , no room service no clean towels or bed change I had to go shopping for towels . Its unfair to pay for a Hotel thinking it's the best costumer service and they fail you like this .

The only issue was being awaken at 1 in the morning because of the fire alarm system going off. We had to stay outside in the cold for about an hour with no compensation from the hotel. We should have been given some sort of compensation see that even breakfast was affected by this problem.

I was visiting for Christmas and have family in the city.

I was visiting for Christmas and have family in the city. It is a suburb of New Haven which has many cultural attractions. West Haven is best known for its many beaches and long boardwalk. In winter there isn't much going on but it's great in the summer. There are several good restaurants along the shore including Jimmy's and Zuppardi's Pizza.

I like the location. i didn't like the fact i left my clothes in the room and they was not turn into lost an found, it was inconvenient to go an buy more clothes and be late for my family event. I drove from Charlotte NC to Connecticut, I knew for a fact that i left my clothes in that room an it wasn't 2 hours before i notices an contact someone at Hampton Inn,

The room that was assigned to me was absolutely filthy from the sheets to the carpet microwave to the Jacuzzi tub and even the refrigerator . When I went to bring this to the attentions Of the staff she got an attitude and told me I have to pay and additional $100 fee for a deposit which was not mentioned on the booking websites when I first purchased the room. So I had to leave the hotel to find a Wells Fargo bank to get cash out because their arm didn’t work . I ask to speak to the manager of the facility and she caught another attitude with me yells saying the manager didn’t wanna speaker to me . She spoke to him and he said if I have another problem to just leave and it was already after the 4pm so I could get my refund even if I tried to cancel. The stay was absolutely terrible . The beds had burn and smoke burn marks in it . Some weird brown and red stains on the bed and sofa . (FYI this is the room given to us after I ask to be relocated to another room (3 rooms later )the room given to us was still dirty and stained . Not suitable for $200
