Close to Great Lakes Naval base, 10 minute drive. BUT we heard a constant jack hammering noise day and night. We thought it was construction at first, but then we realized it was never ending. Thankfully we were able to sleep through it, but it never stopped. Hotel is clean, but don't expect anything amazing. We spent majority of our time traveling into downtown Chicago and the base. We even took the drive to Wisconsin.

We found Green Town Tavern to eat at after our son graduated from Navy bootcamp. The food was great and the bartender was so friendly! It is a short drive to downtown Chicago from Waukegan. We enjoyed the town.

I travel a lot for my sons sports.
I travel a lot for my sons sports. This Holiday Inn was probably the worse stay ever. I was with my family the floor I was staying on was loud as ever. I was woken out my sleep at 4am to people running in the halls and yelling. The smell of weed was was seeping into my room. Wouldn’t stay here again.

We came to Waukegan for our son’s navy bootcamp graduation...
We came to Waukegan for our son’s navy bootcamp graduation and this hotel was within 10 minutes of the base, 1 hour from Downtown Chicago, and 30 minutes from O’hare Airport. Plus it is right next door to Sarge’s Meet and Greet with the parents on Thursday nights. Navy Parents will know who Sarge is from Facebook Recruit Command Page. The accommodations were nice and affordable. We loved the breakfast options every morning and that it was also a slightly different menu everyday outside of the cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, and waffles that were also provided. We always had a variation of eggs (omelette, scrambled), potatoes, and a meat (sausage Pattie’s, links, and kielbasa). The hotel was very modern and clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It is also located next to a few other dining options like Chilis, Starbucks, Chipotle, and Panda with a Walmart across the street and gas stations. We would definitely stay there again.

I am a very upset guest.
I am a very upset guest. My stuff was searched and items Stolen from my room. How does make up and a portable charger disappear from your room if no one else is to go into it but hotel staff. My suitcase was searched left open when it was left packed and closed. I reached out to the hotel staff and advised no one could of gone in there. I advised if i can see the cameras they said oh the manager is not in and they cant access it. I should of called the cops but was on a time crush due to my flight. I'm still going to make a report so this doesn't happen to anyone else. My anxiety is over bored to trust to stay at a hotel. Don't they have rules and regulation that they have to follow to provide good service as a hotel services. We were there for a navy graduation come on.

Stayed near Waukegan for grandson's Navy Recruit Graduation.
Stayed near Waukegan for grandson's Navy Recruit Graduation. Found good restaurants and shops in nearby Libertyville, worth a short drive to find a more-or-less intact small village, preserved but upgraded with nice shops and a variety of good restaurants.

The only thing i didnt really like was how it says that they have breakfast but the only breakfast they had was orange juice with a muffin but the hotel was like 60 dollars so im not really complaining and plus there is a restaurant infront that gets you 10% off showing you have a room key which was neat
The hotel is perfect for a long stay. The staff is very kind and helpful. We can use laundry, fitness, and the barbeque for free.
The location is great. Nearby are a lot of stores - Walmart, Aldi, Mcdonalds, Mod Pizza, Starbucks etc. We will definitely stay here again.
The hot breakfast buffet was very good. A wide variety of foods. The service in this hotel was outstanding. Their regard for Navy families was greatly appreciated. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends.
