A great place to stay in Manhattan. Loved the location and ease of getting in and out. The breakfast was ok. It could have been better, but it was fine considering it was free and easy to access every morning.

The facilities were OK but the manager of the motel was a bully and actually frightening. His name is Rick and he threatened to throw us off of the property and he called us names. We are sisters who travel together frequently. We are age 79 and 83 respectively. This was a truly awful experience.

This is the first negative review I have ever submitted.

This is the first negative review I have ever submitted. We arrived at the property late after a K-state evening football game. We were instructed to park in the alley behind the building which was dark with a few people sitting in their cars. We carried our bags up a long narrow stairway. There were two doors labeled private and one with the address we were given. There was an old loose lockbox on the door. We attempted to enter the code we were given at least 20 times. I have been a realtor for 30 years and have opened hundreds of lockboxes during that time with little or no difficulty. We attempted to contact the owner but she did not reply. She eventually(the next day) notified booking.com that we either had the wrong door(which was clearly marked) or that we just didn't know how to open the lockbox(using her typed instructions). It has been 9 days and the owned has made no attempt to rectify the situation with a call or refund of our money. We ended up driving to Topeka and had to pay another nights lodging. I feel the owner is either not professional or just doesn't care. I would hate for someone else to have such an unpleasant and frustrating experience. I would say, if you have any other options, to avoid this place. It may be nice inside( I have no idea) but it doesn't matter if you can't get in.
