We needed somewhere to stay for a night very last minute. Uncle Tony's place was a great choice. Hosts were very accommodating and kind. 10/10 recommend.
Banana Bungalow Maui Hostel in Wailuku provides adults only accommodations with a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace.

I loved the staff at the property and the open area they have too, everyone is friendly and eating outside is a lovely experience, it’s really close to things by walking if you’d like to get like a coffee or something simple, or you can drive just about anywhere (recommend getting a car)
Go on the tours. It’s a must, they’ll take you out for free and show you Hawaii and it’s a great start to your day and a great way to bond with your housemates during your stay
The food was great everywhere that we went . We went to the top of the volcano for sunrise and it was amazing-- and cold. We went on a helicopter tour and to another island on Trilogy for day of snorkeling and fun. It was great!

We enjoyed the small uncrowded beach. Ocean Breeze… definitely a nice place to be if you’re looking for peace and quiet. It is nothing like an overcrowded, all inclusive resort. I would highly recommend Wailuku!

The location of this apartment is good as it is in the residential neighborhood. Meaning it's not within walking distance to beaches. You do need a car to get around. It's within close proximity to shopping and restaurants. The apartment is very clean ... a good place to rest after a day of fun outdoors.

Maui has the best beaches and the ones off Wailuku are not too busy and lovely. It’s a full service town where the planes fly in so there are many shopping options including Costco. Vacation rentals are relatively expensive here.

If you don’t have a rental car you can plan on lots of walking. The bus system is great, but you need to make sure you have the time to do that. There isn’t a whole lot to see where we stayed. It is in an older part of Wailuku. Definitely not a tourist town, as such.

Wailuku is the County Seat and is several miles from the beach. So, if going to the beach, or to the mountains, you will need a car. However, it is a relatively small island, so if the beach resort life is not for you, this is a good place to stay.

To start with the host. Katie was kind and thoughtful.easy to communicate even made restaurant reservation. The property is luxurious right on the water everything you can expect from a 5 star place. The decoration and the welcome treat is special with all the exotic flowers. The unit is modern with all the comfort to the last details like bathrobe etc,..
We stayed before in most of the Wailea luxury hotels but will come back to this place first in the future. Made our stay with our friends unforgettable.
Wonderful location, in one of the most beautiful parts of Maui. So much nicer than staying in a resort hotel. So peaceful - just the sound of the river and birds - with fabulous views, a comfortable room and delicious breakfasts left on our own patio/fridge for the next day. One of the nicest places I’ve ever stayed.
Great location in Wailuku to explore multiple points of interest in Maui. The Wailuku area is also nice with local shops. I had to do the checkout at 5am so appreciated the 24/7 schedule of the reception.
