Laule'a Ohana Hale, hotel in Waikoloa Village

Laule'a Ohana Hale is located in Waikoloa Village, just 29 miles from Kaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park and 14 miles from Hapuna Golf Course.

Lovely place! Just minutes from the market, and a quiet neighborhood. The house was impeccably decorated, well stocked and instructions were easy to follow. The place had almost everything we needed! Not having to deal with stairs was a big plus!! I've seen a couple of the other reviews that had complaints, but you've gotta remember this is someone's house, not a resort. It is an older house, and the outside could use some love, but the interior was excellently renovated. I wish I had their designer, when we redid our house! Complaints about bugs??? This is a tropical island...unless you got someone there, every day, taking care of them...they're going to pop up! No matter how clean the house is!!! We only had two instances, and no big deal. We didn't even bother using the private community pool, or center. Why, when there are so many beaches and the whole island to enjoy? During our stay the weather was more temperate, and cooling wasn't an issue. Cross breezes, and fans, cooled the house effectively and the AC units in the bedrooms kept them cool more than enough! The home had the charm of old Hawai'i mixed in with modern finishes. Hosts were very responsive to my questions.

The breakfast buffet was wonderful. We all were able to choose our favorites. The staff was always ready to accommodate our requirements for a high chair, and special requests for bananas for the baby.

The unit was well stocked with everything a vacationer might need. Kitchen lighting was inadequate, the under the cabinet strip lights never turned on, maintenance had no clue how to operate them, he brought us stick up lights on day 4 , I'm sure he would have come out sooner but we were busy driving all over the island every day. We cook and needed surface lighting, all there was was a ceiling fan light & dim light over the stove. The unit listed air conditioning, there is no central air, only a portable unit attached to the wall by a duct in the bedroom. Thank goodness for the trade winds, with front door and balcony door open the breeze was good. The downstairs owner had construction for 3 days, power tools going during daylight till about 4pm. I have pictures, I own condos & know this is unavoidable, just some info that should be considered when setting a rental rate. We were able to text Vacasa maintenance regarding the lighting, he did the best he could The unit was well stocked with everything a vacationer might need. Beach & sporting equipment. Kitchen lighting was inadequate, the under the cabinet strip lights never turned on, maintenance had no clue how to operate them, he brought us stick up lights on day 4. We cook and needed surface lighting, all there was was a ceiling fan light & dim light over the stove. The community was very quiet, we golfed, used the pool etc. All in all a safe time was had by both of us. We had a rented car & drove all over the island everyday. We are chefs, did our own cooking, neighborhood grocery store was good. Did not eat at Johnnies golf diner. Will not rent at Villages again, probably go closer to the beach, pretty decent decor and well stocked but that does not make up for heat or noise.

    The location is wonderful.

The location is wonderful. There is a great place to walk/run/bike just a short walk from the Villas. We enjoyed the view of the golf course, the wild turkeys and chickens who visited, the foliage, and so much more. Upon arrival to the condo, we were so impressed with the cleanliness of not just the interior, but the grounds are immaculate. Very well kept and maintained. Loved all the Hibiscus growing! The condo was so comfortable and it was great to have a nice roomy kitchen to cook meals. We didn’t want to leave. We always enjoy the Lava Lava Beach Club and watching the sunset and enjoying great food and beverages. We also love going to Hilo, and we had an amazing meal at the Volcano House/Rim Restaurant. Kilauea is a breathtaking site and it’s a must see when visiting the Big Island. We also enjoyed Hāpuna and Spencer Beach Parks, Lapakahi National State Park, and the beautiful town of Hawi. We also saw the original statue of King Kamehameha! Everyone we interacted with, no matter where we went, was pure Aloha. The kindness we experienced was mind blowing.
