We love this location! The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff is friendly. You're paying for a Comfort Inn so the amenities are not plush but that's not the point. If you are looking for clean, quiet, safe and comfortable, here you go.

We were in Tuscaloosa from Florida for our son's college XC race. The course for the race was amazing at the University of Alabama Arboretum. After the race we decided to tour the University of Alabama and downtown Tuscaloosa. My husband went to GA Tech, and I attended UF, and we were both impressed with Un. of Alabama's campus: trees everywhere, plenty of green space, not a crowded campus, well-maintained traditional buildings, amazing sports facilities, great shuttle, walkable, and drivable (UF closes down campus to cars during the school/work days). The town of Tuscaloosa was charming-also easy to walk around, with a variety of shops and restaurants, and everyone, from students to shop/restaurant employees, to volunteers at the race, were all very friendly and helpful. Everything was convenient in Tuscaloosa, not much traffic, and did not take much time to get anywhere. We were disappointed to only have a few hours there, but we will definitely go back!

Tuscaloosa is a great place to visit. Lots to do.
Tuscaloosa is a great place to visit. Lots to do. Great places to eat. Easy to get around in the town. Just make sure when you go there is nothing going on big on the college campuses because the hotels price gauge if there is something big going on in town. Surrounded by other great places in case you can't find a hotel there, but this only happens when the colleges are having big events. I love Tuscaloosa. Just make sure you get a good hotel.

Tuscaloosa has many family friendly and beautiful sites.
Tuscaloosa has many family friendly and beautiful sites. The traffic scared me but no accidents. It seemed as if the police were busy and in twos. The parks were ok but the site seeing made up for that. We ate at brick and spoon and I was very unimpressed and disappointed over shrimp n grits. If your in college it's the place to be.

Very nice and helpful staff!
Very nice and helpful staff! Cleanliness was our main concern and they met or exceeded our expectations. It's a very new hotel so everything was modern and up to date (electronics and facility). My only "complaint" is that the hotel is difficult to access. The GPS took us to the church parking lot behind the hotel. You need to cut through the adjacent hotel's parking lot to get to Avid. Not a big deal but it would be more convenient to have a separate driveway. We stayed at Tuscaloosa and our room faced the main street and highway. It was a Friday and there was a lot of noise coming from the roads still at bedtime. I'll request a room on the other side of the hotel next time. But overall, a VERY nice hotel for the price! We will book with them again in the future.

The whole trip was disaster. Pool no water.
The whole trip was disaster. Pool no water. Location was too shady to feel comfortable staying there. DM was very helpful. She found us another hotel which I paid for. Booking did nothing to help. I want my money back on room

The best thing about Tuscaloosa is the University.
The best thing about Tuscaloosa is the University. The campus is awesome; and the little downtown area near the university is charming, but that's pretty much all we liked about Tuscaloosa. We only went because that's where our daughter went to college, but found it super frustrating that hotels and rentals always gouge on lodging during special events. We probably won't ever go back. Our experience dealing with the locals when we had to do business with them was generally not very friendly.

Well we made the reservation on line and got to the hotel and walked inside had to dial 500 to get the lady to come to the window and she looked awful and told us the room was not available and we needed to call to get our money back, so it was a bad experience
Reception staff were really friendly. Location is perfect, wish we had more time to explore Tuscaloosa. Breakfast was good, free parking until 8am at the front of the hotel. Water pressure in shower was good
Dining room was very pleasant. Breakfast offerings were enjoyable. Beds equalled the comfort of a Hampton Inn and price was much better. A beautiful facility with friendly and knowledgeable staff.
The location of the hotel was very good for visiting the UofA. The services and the price was fair for what is needed to have a decent place to stay over night.
