The Pioneer Lodge was a wonderful place to stay when visiting Bryce Canyon. The convenience of the Showdown restaurant being right next door was great.

With the warmest welcome on arrival everything got better still. There was an array of hot drinks, herbs, condiments, food from the owners as well as previous renters, even milk which normally I have to request. These are greatly appreciated and make it feel more homely. There were also plentiful toiletries, tourist information, notes of what to do or not.Every prospective owner should come and see what makes a great stay.Even if it was not on the doorstep of Bryce Canyon at very reasonable cost,I would still say it is the closest to perfection you will find.

The cabin was really big, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. Thought had gone into what would make a good visit for guests. We were out of season so all the admin was kept to a minimum (key left on office door, left key and one form in drop box on departure) which was excellent.

Tropic is a great home base from which to explore Bryce Canyon, as it's so close by but quiet. The Pizza Place, in town, is really solid pizza and beer and good service. Aside from that, though, it's slim pickings food-wise: I recommend bringing your own and staying someplace where you can self cater as much as possible.

Tropic did the job we needed for self caterers.
Tropic did the job we needed for self caterers. Small general store, a choice of several restaurants (nothing special but we weren'tlooking for that) an excellent gas station/store. It's a remote area but we didnt feel we needed to go anywhere elase for what we needed

This small town is very convenient to Bryce Canyon. There are enough local establishments to supplement your visits to the local National Parks and other area attractions. The vibe is small town campground and had a very relaxing feel. We enjoyed our stay and will likely stay here again when we return.

Very small town, nothing much here at all - the big draw is Bryce Canyon Nat'l Park, which is a short drive away. We were only here three days to visit the park, so it wasn't that bad. The price of the room was the big draw; we could have stayed closer to the park but at twice the price. The idea of our own cabin was appealing. Three or four little restaurants in town. The place is clean and quiet and everyone we ran into was pleasant. Bring a book or iPad or something for your evenings.

Although a lot of the shops and restaurants were closed for the season. Everyone seemed to be very friendly and the pizza place we ate at was very good.
Clark's store has everything you need for hiking, dinner or a quick snack. Really good coffee

Such a cute little quaint town.
Such a cute little quaint town. There isn't much, but it's great. A few little quaint restaurants, and a gas station, and it's just adorable. Highly recommend starting at Bryce Valley Lodging, mini cabins, little personal adorable ones! You won't be disappointed! Great fun.

Tropic is a little away from the main Bryce Canyon City bustle, and has a homely country charm. The BPV itself is spacious, clean and tidy, and has character. Complimentary coffee in Reception (rather than in one’s room), is very good. Tasty food in the C&W themed restaurant.
Very convenient location for Bryce Canyon - about a 20 min drive. Close to shops and restaurants in the small town of Tropic. Older property but has been very nicely renovated. Staff were very prompt with responding to our messages. Daily housekeeping was a surprising touch.
