The breakfast was so good. Omelets, sausage and potatoes were cooked very well. My son loved eating the waffles. We were there for an overnight rest and had to get up early to keep driving and the beds were extremely comfortable. I felt well rested and it was really nice to eat a great breakfast!

This historic structure is built of stone and is very quaint with thick walls. My room was small, perfectly adequate if you like spartan simplicity. Comfortable full size foam mattress. There were two bathrooms steps away down the hall, as expected, as well as a roomy kitchen area with dining table and chairs. The fixtures and finishes were all updated and in good condition. The heating system was excellent. Cute lamp and little bedside table, plenty of accessible outlets for charging gadgets. The front desk staff at the neighboring Mizpah Hotel, which manages the Brewery property, was friendly; they provided me with a complimentary breakfast to make up for the delayed checkin and slovenly condition of the room. The location was very central, with an interesting historical mining park in walking distance.

A really interesting small town, evocative of the era of the old west.
I was passing through a couple of years ago and thought I would like to do more.
So glad I did return - a great little town. I stayed for 3 nights.
I would recommend visiting the Silver mine and museum of central Nevada to appreciate what life was like for the pioneers.
Town has great friendly bars and adequate restaurants but I wouldn't go there expecting fine dining.

I enjoy old mining history and ghost town locations.
I enjoy old mining history and ghost town locations. Tonopah has both. Two museums in town. The mining museum at the south end of town is very good. Mineral park museum behind the Mitzpah hotel is excellent as well.

Interesting "mini city" in the middle of the desert!
Interesting "mini city" in the middle of the desert! Lots of history to investigate, walk the downtown strip and see what this little town has to offer - there's a bookstore, restaurants, various shops, and the awesome Mizpah hotel. Be sure to visit the Clown Motel and gift store (doesn't matter if you're not staying there). Have a chat with the owner and check out
"Charlie" the haunted clown and his collection of clowns and scary paintings - the motel itself is a work of art. In the evening, take a short drive to the Tonopah Stargazing location equipped with benches and an alien to keep you company! A cool town well worth the visit.

Small town, but fine for a stop while driving.
Small town, but fine for a stop while driving. Not a lot of restaurants but the Tonopah Brewery had good beer and food (typical pub fare). Prices seemed to be $$$ for a pub, however, they have a happy hour when some of the the food is cheaper.

We went for the historical aspect of the town.
We went for the historical aspect of the town. The town is very run down. The staff at the Mispah was not very friendly except for a housekeeper named Anna. Chris at the Clown Motel was friendly and helpful. We ate at El Marquez, it was OK but mexican food in New Mexico is more to our liking. Road construction in town was not pleasant. We loved walking around in the old cemetary. The mining history is cool.

Tononah is a great town to spend the night when driving between Las Vegas and Reno. Almost exactly 1/2 way which makes for a nice day's drive. Pluses are: a fun Casino, with personable staff and local characters. Watch which machines the locals play, you will learn something. Plus the town has an interesting history to learn about and investigate.
