I had seen from other reviews that the elevator was not working and it was clear that the receptionist was incredibly nervous when she mentioned this. People have obviously been giving her a hard time because of it. We only had to carry our suitcases up one floor but the room was absolutely huge. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. I dont stay in a hotel to spend time in the elevator so I enjoyed our stay here.

For the most part I liked staying here, but it could use a few improvements
The ocean view from my window, breathtaking.
The little wood stove. Fabulous.
Big table and lots of chairs was nice have, as well as, a dvd/CD player hooked up.
So glad the windows, range and frig. were all in working order.

Great location close to the beach and easy access to the Oregon Coast sights and activities. Lovely little town. Clean. Free parking. Quiet spot.
The staff was courteous and competent. The mattress was comfortable. The room was bare and ugly like a jail cell and the bedding was harsh and uncomfortable. I won't be coming back and I wouldn't reccomend it to anybody I like.

This is our second visit to Tillamook, the first one being 6 years ago. We actually stayed at this hotel then and thought it was decent. This trip was miserable. The beds are hard as a rock and we were put in a room at the top of the second floor with the staff closet/room next to us. The door kept slamming past 10:30 pm, prompting a visit to please not slam the door. Check-in staff wasn't friendly. Next time we travel through, we will opt to go somewhere else.

Tillamook was great .... the hotel was HORRIBLE!!!
Tillamook was great .... the hotel was HORRIBLE!!!
Ashley Inn of Tillamook - in process of remodeling so some rooms were already renovated - some were not - paid same amount for a "crappy" room as others paid for rooms that had already been renovated. Room had a "sewer" smell, bed was too soft, room had minimal furnishings, bathroom had holes in the walls, etc, etc

I absolutely love the view from Cape Lookout.
I absolutely love the view from Cape Lookout. I didn't even know this place existed. On the way up to it we seen a herd of elk. That was pretty. But the best part was the sun was setting on the bay. It was gorgeous and was able to get some pictures. Fully enjoyed it. Another wonderful place to go is the Cape Meres state park. The Octopus Tree is undesirable. It's the nearest thing to see. It literally looks like an Octopus. The view is beautiful. I'm sad we didn't get to see inside the light house. It was still closed for the season.😭 Absolutely love the cheese factory. Been there several times but this is the first time we had the deep fried cheese curds. Those were good! Can't forget the ice cream cones either. Yummy! Then we went to the Tillamook Country Smoker to get "real" pepperoni sticks that you can't get in any stores.

There are lots of Food Trucks (mostly Mexican and Espresso) but they close early. Crazy Torta had excellent ceviche tostada. The Rendevous Bar & Grill had the best clam chowder (and it's GF too!) They make everything in-house.
The line to get into the Tillamook Cheese Factory was ridiculously long. Not worth it IMO.
Saturday we went to the farmers market downtown.
We enjoyed the wooden boardwalk trail to the Big Tree at Rockaway (find it on Google) and out by Cape Meares walking out to the site of the old city of Bayocean ($10 day use fee) that fell into the ocean. There's a beautiful long stretch of beach out there.

other than the landscape, it did not hold much interest for us. the creamery tour was fun, but was about it. Not many restaurants or places to stay which limits the amount of time the average traveler can stay. While a lovely "pass thru" town, one day is probably all you need. Unless you want to spend alot on a room for the night, suggest that you stay at one of the coastal towns when you get ready to turn in for the night.

We had a king room on floor 3. I liked the hard floor throughout, much more hygienic than carpets. The bathroom seemed to be newly fitted and excellent. Very close to the Tillamook creamery. I read lots of negative comments on other sites about this hotel but our stay was really good
On main road through Tillamook, Huge room. Location was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Visited Tillamook Cheese factory, well worth a visit.
