It is a wonderful artsy area, unfortunately the downtown & plaza roads are under massive construction. This has been a huge problem for the local shops & restaurants a. Takes away from the flavor & enjoyment of this quaint town.

Our tour of the Pueblo was the highlight of visit. Our guide was so knowledgeable and the pueblo is so magical to visit.
Really enjoyed walking around town tho construction was happening on the main thoroughfare. Loved our green chile fries and margaritas at the Alley Cantina and visit to Madam M! Best sandwiches ever at KokoDeli.

Can you say construction season?
Can you say construction season? Taos is a rustic SW town with a lovely bar and food scene, along with amazing shops and cafes. A bit slow during the week but bustling once the weekend hits. The Alley Cantina is highly recommended, anything with green chili!

The Pueblo closed earlier than their posted time.
The Pueblo closed earlier than their posted time. The Pueblo's website tells you to check their "events" calendar to make sure that they are open, which I had done days earlier, not at the last minute. And they closed the next day. So disappointing. Off season, the old town was not just less crowded, it was practically dead.

The Taos loop and ski valley area are absolutely beautiful year around. We enjoy the drive to Angel Fire, Eagle Nest, Red River and Questa, as well as up to the ski valley, which is beautiful in and of itself. The Taos mountains are breath-taking and the gorge and gorge bridge are worth seeing, especially as you travel down towards Santa Fe.
