I ran into a nasty storm while out in South Hampton and decided to stay locally rather than travel back to NJ. I checked into the Hamlet Inn and was greeted by the friendly staff who truly went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. They gave me no less than 5 choices of places to dine in town for both dinner and then breakfast in the morning. They offer coffee or tea and cakes at anytime throughout the day in the office lounge area. The lounge was nicely decorated and overlooks an expansive yard with a pool and chaises for sun bathing. I was also offered a beach pass for a local spot that I was truly interested in visiting but the weather did not cooperate.
Lastly, I was offered a bigger room than I booked by the lovely lady that was taking care of my check-in. What a terrific place...will definitely be going back.

People in the restaurants and places were not nice at all. Never smile, never helped.
I won’t come back because of these feeling of not being welcome.

Bring your credit card! The area is beautiful. The architecture is amazing. It's a great place to bike and visit gardens like Madoo, LongHouse and Marder (actually nursery but really cool). Also, ate at Cow Fish in Hampton Bays. Excellent dinner!

Great location for relaxation, fresh air, a feeling of privacy, and a sense of homeyness, with awesome beds! Claude's Restaurant breakfast is a convenient and tasty option for a good bite if you don't want to go far.
Some ambient lighting in the bedroom and baths along with light blocking drapes would help against the sometimes harsh lighting and assist with a better night's sleep.

Small dated bathroom. Poor room cleanliness. Very hard to find. Entrance poorly marked, especially from a very busy highway at night. Room had ants. Mattress needs replaced. Very poor continental breakfast. Air conditioner needed work or upgraded. Very noisy.
I liked everything. The location was excellent and the room was exceptionally clean and extremely comfortable. The facilities were really good.. the game’s room for the children was a big hit, as were the outdoor games.. the complimentary Wi-Fi was excellent, staff extremely helpful. I’d definitely recommend the Southampton Inn to friends and family.
