The location was excellent, only a 5 mins drive from Main Street in South Haven. The woman on reception when we arrived was extremely helpful and friendly, esp as we had laundry to do. Our girls loved the indoor pool and breakfast the next day was a cheap and cheerful way to save money and start our day. Shermans across the road was excellent for ice cream.

did not have alot of time so visited the downtown area. On a Sunday many stores were open and all people were friendly and helpful. Did not have time to do a hike even though trails were close by. Drove to the lighthouse that was just beyond the downtown area.
I believe it was the Taste were I ate. Was recommend by a shop owner as probably being good for someone who is GF. She was right and they have small plate choices.

South Haven has many good shops, restaurants and breweries. We visited just about every brewery, our favorite was South Haven Brewpub. Our favorite restaurant was Taste. South Haven is small, so you can walk just about everywhere. We were there in the off season (mid-October) so some restaurants were closed and parking was easy. I imagine in-season parking could be more difficult.
We like to hike and bike and there are a couple of trailheads in town, the Van Buren Trailhead and the Kal-Haven Trailhead. The beaches are also great.

Michigan Never disappoints!!!!!! It's beautiful, the town is amazing, cute and quaint. The people friendly and it's a great way to relax. However, they are not a foodie town. They lacked good dinner options.

South Haven is a small town with a local beach, river and marina with decent shopping downtown. We also went up to Grand Haven and Holland for day trips. I would rank South Haven above Grand Haven and well below Holland which is a very nice town.

South Haven is a little gem we stumbled on by accident.
South Haven is a little gem we stumbled on by accident. The town's main street, Pheonix street, gave the town a cozy feel, with a good number and variety of small shops, eateries, coffee places and bars. Further down the street you can spend some time at the beach or visit the small lighthouse on the pier. We will absolutely be coming back here in the future, and will recommend this to anyone passing through the area.

Beach town with B&B's, boutique style shopping, restaurants both nicer and casual, boating, hiking, berry picking, good for couples and families. Major grocery chains close by, dog friendly, LGBTQ friendly, fishing, biking, golf cart friendly, scooter friendly. Have to have the ice cream. Saugatuck only 30 minute drive for more of the same. Best fried chicken at The Southerner. Parking is bad though and summer holidays are packed with crowds.

Absolutely loved the staff! They were super nice and helpfull all the time. Amenities in the room are great, room is clean & modern. We had a good view. Hotel is in a short driving distance from town and close to the highway (without any noise)
Charming older hotel, perfect spot to walk around South Haven. Evening happy hour was a nice addition, and got to chat with the owner who seemed like a great guy. Definitely recommend staying here.
The entire hotel feels new, clean, friendly, spacious. Excellent free breakfast with daily variations in hot breakfast option. Staff friendly and happy to oblige.
