South Hadley is a lovely place to visit...peaceful,...

South Hadley is a lovely place to visit...peaceful, picturesque and very safe. It is a quiet town with historic Mount Holyoke College campus the main attraction. Across from the college, the main street of town has a nicely designed retail/restaurant complex where we enjoyed several meals. It is a great loction, close to Amherst and Northampton (each about 15-20 minutes away by car through beautiful countryside), and Peter Pan buses have a pick-up on Main Street to pretty much any location including Boston. Nearby attractions include Skinner Mountain...you can drive up, or hike, and the view is spectacular!

This is a lovely place to stay. The house is charming, Ruth and Richard were very kind hosts, and the rooms were comfortable and attractive. We were in walking distance of the college and the main stretch in South Hadley, and close by car to a number of other sites in the region.
