Would never recommend this hotel as I was treated as a second class citizen. I am a Hhonors Diamond member and a travel agent and was totally disgusted with the treatment received. The first room assigned, not the one I originally selected, stunk and was dirty. The second room had little bugs that looked like fleas so it made me think that whoever had the room prior had an animal in it and it was not cleaned well enough to put another guest in. The sink was cracked from one end of it to the other. I was told the GM was going to contact me but as of yet, I have heard from no one.

I was in Somerset to visit family, and I needed a quiet, comfortable room to sleep in that was conveniently located. Somerset Lofts fit that requirement, and was the least expensive option available. The rooms were spacious and laid out very nicely, but the hotel is showing signs of age and may not be for all travelers. If you choose to stay here, be prepared to endure minor inconvenience, but you will enjoy the space.

Hard to get any response from GM despite leaving several messages at the front desk I am an ADA person, the property is separated into one large pr o property and ours which was in the rear. Because of the distance it would have been easier for management to come to my suite tether than my walking to the front desk. I had advised the front desk of my limitations, to no avail. I received a visit to my suite by the assistant manager only after I had waited an hour following leaving a message on her answering machine. Since i don't believe in coincidences i attribute her visit to my placing a call to Sonesta's corporate office. I advised both corporate of the issues poor housekeeping, poor maintenance, safety issue ( smoke/fire detector covered by a plastic bag, it remained that way even after showing that to the assistant manager, upon our departure. Putting the safety of my family at risk. I'm 70 y.o and in palliative health care, so getting up on on a chair and reading above my head is out of the question. I've uploaded several photographs of my suites glaring faults and am waiting to see if they post. Additionally the staff treated us not as the reason for their jobs but an imposition on their time. Apparently hospitality training is sadly lacking at this location for its hires.

Unbeknownst to many, this is a beautiful area.

Unbeknownst to many, this is a beautiful area. Walked along the Delaware - Raritan Canal, and the Raritan River. Absolutely beautiful and peaceful. This N.J. State Park stretches from New Brunswick to Trenton, 33 miles in all.

I always prefer this property when wanting to get away from home, or just wanting a few friends to come together. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming, never any complaints or need to complain about neighboring rooms. The rooms could be available to smoke in, esp for the rate they are asking.

    Hotel was clean.

Hotel was clean. Suite was clean although all dishes and silverware was in the dishwasher when I arrived. The bed was very comfortable and the front desk staff aaccommodating. However the hotels deposit policy and amount wss not accurate on their website. The hotel does not deal with any cash. So if you dont have an extra 100 to 300 dollars better book elsewhere.
