Silver Creek lodge was awesome. Personnel are most helpful.
Silver Creek lodge was awesome. Personnel are most helpful. I take my boys skiing every other year and always to Park City, Utah prior to this trip. On the drive home, they told me they want our next trip to be back to Silver Creek.

We were fortunate to have beautiful weather and the views were phenomenal. We had one nice hike in the area. However, in general, the area does not cater much to hikers. They seem to focus a lot more on mountain biking. Which I find unfortunate since the area is so beautiful and hiking possibilities could be expanded. We also had a Visit with the nearby town of Cass to see and experienced the beautiful historical railroad. This experience right there increased our value of the visit to snowshoe.

Weird weather made snowmaking unavailable.
Weird weather made snowmaking unavailable. Snow was slushy and non-existent on some cutoffs. I realize there is nothing you can do about the weather. The reason for the low marks was the lodging we booked. Rooms were not clean and there was no resemblance of the actual rooms to the site pictures.

Snowshoe is my favorite ski resort on the east side of the lower US.
It is bigger that most, higher altitude, has decent night skiing and if you get there after a bunch of snow, it is really fun. The little restaurants and bars on and off the slopes make it even nicer.

The locals understand there is limited cellphone coverage in Snowshoe but the resort must assume everyone has been here before since the signs are simply horrible. There are signs that say Snowshoe Village is X miles away but no signs saying where the Village is. I went through Snowshoe twice and could not find where the Village was. I have Verizon so I did not have benefit of GPS so we decided to eat somewhere else since the restaurant we wanted to go to was in the "Village". We ended up eating at Old Spruce Brewery since it was visible from the road. We are not skiers so we will probably bypass Snowshoe next time since it is so hard to find places to eat or shop. We came to ride the Cass Railroad.

Inn:
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Inn:
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable and had everything we needed.
Travel:
Roads were a bit daunting for us flatlanders, but to be expected on a mountainside.
Other:
Due to the time of year, there were fewer attractions available and other than the Inn and the restaurant the front desk crew recommended, we found the quality of service and food somewhat lacking.
The train tour we took was incredible and, between the Inn and the trains, we will be back.

See reviews by guests who stayed at hotels in Snowshoe
We arrived late in the evening, there was no need for any registration, using the code we entered the room. Two coffee machines, coffee, spices, a lot of dishes, a lot of blankets, a sauna and a swimming pool on the territory of the hotel, free buses to the village to the lifts, and a stop right at the hotel
Our room was clean and comfortable. Coffee available in the morning was delightful. Amenities in the room (refrigerator and microwave) were useful. The mountain location offered great views, but the visit was primarily for a family gathering, which made it the perfect spot.
Snowshoe resort was great. A little quiet during the week as several things were not open. On Friday when we were leaving, more people were arriving and more was opening up. Location and proximity to Cass Scenic Railroad was perfect!
