We arrived at 11:45pm after a 2 hour flight and 30 minute drive. The front desk manager took 25 minutes to check us in. And, was rude to the max. I asked why it took 30 minutes to check us in and he told me not to exaggerate - it only took 25 minutes. ugh...Then we learned that we would not be staying in the 1820 house for $339 a night, and rather we would be staying in the modern annex. This was a room Bait and switch and nowhere noted in the reservation details. Breakfast we learned was a slimmed down continental breakfast with toast, and apples and oranges. We went to the Marriott instead. Saved a $100 on the room. Got exactly the room expected and enjoyed a full and free breakfast.

Enjoyed my stay, it was a quiet retreat from the busy life.
Enjoyed my stay, it was a quiet retreat from the busy life. Accommodations were very comfortable and clean. The staff were personable and attentive. Well appointed rooms. Lovely town to walk around. A great coffee shop just down the street (The Coffee Spot) and a friendly cozy Pub with good food right across the street (Red Stone Pub). I would gladly return to Simsbury 1820.

I live in RI and have never been that far into the center of CT as I always thought it would be boring. I was incorrect and went to a number of stores, breweries, eateries and met a great group of people throughout my short stay.

We were visiting the New England Air Museum.
We were visiting the New England Air Museum. This motel was about 15 minutes away. It was the most reasonable motel price-wise. The motel is old and dated, as are the interior finishes. Not run down, just old. There have been some updates, but more would not hurt. The room was a good size. The room was very clean. Everything worked inside. Clean is the biggest thing for me. Dated doesn't bother me.

It never stopped pouring for 48 hours, could not walk around at all, in addition, very cold.
Unusual for this time of the year!
We drove around to different little towns.
Simsbury Inn is in a very good location.

It was pouring/raining for the duration of our trip.
It was pouring/raining for the duration of our trip. We didn't get to enjoy the hiking to the tower or a nearby botanical garden as we planned. But, it was close to Hartford and we found some indoor stuff to do there. The Pine and Iron axe throwing spot was unexpectedly fun! And lunch in West Hartford was great. I'd say, if you see it is going to rain actively try to plan a nearby museum or other activity. We weren't able to get into the Mark Twain House (about 20 minutes away I think) and b/c of COVID indoor activities are limited.

The most magical place on the East Coast. Beautiful magical, historical, friendliest and genuinely warm staff, home feeling but with all amenities of a hotel, sister hotel close by with the huge pool and most amazing jacuzzi with the strongest jets. I came to US to move and had a lot of hard work unpacking and packing, and it was all very straining both physically and emotionally and this place was the warmest base that helped me so much! Thank you Sheryl, Kai and Glen you made me feel like a part of your family. Miss you!
I was in town for an LCI bike lead training which was just a mile away from 1820's house. I was able to use the bike trail to go to and fro which was great! Also upon my arrival they gave me a room on the first floor since I had my folding bike. This was much appreciated since the hotel doesn't have an elevator. The continental breakfast was great!
