The first time there without the Flea market (not the right season) I'm glad because Shipshewana has a lot to offer. Shops, food, PIE, and awesome shows, plays, and music.. All in walkable area. Saw Celtic Thunder at the Blue Gate Performing Arts Center. Quilt heaven if you sew and I do!

Shipshewana is a wonderful community that offers visitors a variety of food, fabric and fun. If you haven't ever traveled here, be sure to stop by and allow your self a couple days at least to visit the many shops you can visit. A very fun place to see.

The town of Shipshe knows how to decorate for fall! Worth the trip to enjoy all the decorations. Folks always friendly and the many stores were well-stocked. We never miss Yoders Department store—always a highlight.

We always enjoy the shows at the Blue Gate Theater and the meals in the Blue Gate Restaurant are wonderful. Our favorite store is the Front Porch. They have a little bit of everything at very reasonable prices.

Breakfast and pool water temperature were good.

Breakfast and pool water temperature were good. Horribly overpriced. WHY are you trying to sell a $4 cookie at checkin.. So low class. Most hotels charging $250 per night offer that free. Typical Amish trying to extract as much $$ out of non-Amish.

Our stay in Shipshewana was fun and educational.

Our stay in Shipshewana was fun and educational. I appreciate the Amish family values and boundaries when it comes to work. Their work- life balance is something to be admired and so is their commitment to God. As a child, I remember things being similar but we are far away from that now. Because of that difference in our lifestyles, it was somewhat difficult to get used to. Everything shuts down early. We were back in the hotel room by 4 or 5pm every night. Thank goodness for the pool and hot tub in the hotel and a good book. Despite that, there is plenty to do during the day. The shopping is wonderful and there are many tours to take to learn more about the Amish lifestyle. If I do return, I will know what to expect and come more prepared.

breakfast was lovely. Hot and cold selections, juice, tea and coffee. loved making waffles every day. Front office personnel were awesome. If you asked they answered. next door to The Shipshewana RV Park and a mile up the road was the enormous flea Market, every Tuesday and Wednesday. Awesome find to be had. This is our fifth time to Shipshewana, we enjoy the atmosphere.
