The people were very nice. The model is dated but clean and comfortable. We got a value room so we can't say how the larger rooms are but this one met our needs.

The location of the Great Western Lodge was great as we traveled into both Salida and the mountains. It was also right next door to the Aquatic Hot Springs Center. Great food at Tony's Waffles (the name is changing)...his own recipes! Very nice downtown with plenty to see and do. People in the stores are very friendly.

It was a really cool town.

It was a really cool town. The restaurants and stores on and around main street had just the right mountain feel, with good food and souvenirs to shop for, and with friendly people. The river area was pleasant to walk along--and stopping to see the surfers was a jaw-dropping experience for my boys and me.

Salida is a friendly small town along the Arkansas River.

Salida is a friendly small town along the Arkansas River. There are many public parks throughout including a large shaded one on the river. Kayaks and tubes can be rented as well as bicycles. Many different indoor and patio options are available for food, drink and music, as well as various local stores and shops. There is a major grocery store and a big department store on the main highway.

    My son lives here.

My son lives here. It’s a beautiful community with historic homes, lovely parks, river, kids riding bikes, everyone is friendly. It’s almost Mayberry. So much to see and do. Great restaurants, and not the same old chains. Small business is honorable and thriving.

This is an absolutely beautiful property. Gorgeously decorated, extremely comfortable furnishings, very spacious. 180 degree views of valley, mountains and sky. Very secluded and private and QUIET. We prepared all our own meals and the kitchen had everything we needed. Easy to find. Just a really lovely home. The pictures online don't even do this place justice! It's the best place I've ever stayed in Salida.

It’s a cozy older home just on the edge of downtown Salida. The beautiful river walk is right behind the house. The neighborhood was quiet even though the house is located on a main road. The bed was very comfortable.

This property is truly a gem and the most bang for your buck you’ll find out of many places definitely able to be a 5 star or higher hotel, all they would need is a spa and bar/restaurant

The hotel owners were awesome. They served the most delicious coffee I have ever had during a hotel breakfast. I'd go back just for the coffee. I loved the cozy feel.
