My dog & I loved our stay at the Boathouse Cottage! It was quaint, very cozy, clean, comfortable, and with views of Arena Cove. We used the provided firewood to light up the fireplace & soaked in the hot tub every night (just me, not my dog :) Also grilled a tri-tip on the outdoor BBQ. The host was also very responsive to my inquiries and accommodating as well.

Loved being close to town but also remote in the red woods
Pt Arena is our secret getaway. The harbor is alive with fishing & surfing but it’s all local & chill. The Discovery Art Studio Tour is amazing & there is excellent food & coffee options everywhere. Local festivals have great music & are small enough to not be overwhelmed. There are different beaches, lots of bluff top hiking along the ocean & a cool lighthouse. Very relaxing.

Rollerville is right down the road & has great food for any meal & very handy. Pier Place at the wharf is also good & great views & shops. I have lived in this area most of my life & had to move because of my husband's job 26 yrs ago. We have family here & come from WA every yr to visit friends & family & never miss coming to view the lighthouse.

Point Arena is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty with a stunning coastline. The coastal views on the way to the lighthouse should not be missed. However, the town center is rather blighted. The restaurants seem to be only open on the weekends. The historic center is worn down. . . not really any interesting shops or galleries.
You may want to consider staying in Gualala or Anchor Bay instead. Elk has a fantastic art gallery and it's a charming village. . . but, the prices in the local grocery are astronomical.

A trip north along the coast road to Fort Bragg, stopping often and including a stop at Point Arena lighthouse with climb to the top well worth it. Pizzas on the wharf, about 5 minutes away well worth the easy drive. Co-op across the road does excellent coffee - proper espresso coffee!!

Not really a town to stay more than one night unless you are visiting friends in the area. The lighthouse is about the only thing to see that is of interest. A little town that tries to hard to be something it is not.

Loved the Wild Flower Motel, the breakfast was brought to our room and it was delicious. We had fun exploring and seeing Bowling Ball Beach. Great places to eat and just walk around. The weather was wonderful. Next time we will definitely go to the beach at sunset.

The entire facility was more than we expected in every way. The checkin was smooth and friendly, the room was clean and tasteful, and the breakfast was above and beyond. A special touch was the wildflower themed rooms, and beautiful wildflowers all over the property. The entire experience was more hotel than motel. Recommend the short drive down to get pizza by the wharf.
Loved the people that run this hotel, Dorothy was the receptionist when we got there and was wonderful. Didn't get the Gal in the morning name when we checked out, but she was wonderful also. The view is amazing. Bed was so comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. Very good use of the space. Loved watching the fishing boats coming and goings.
