Phoenixville has a charming Main Street area with great food, cute shops and a wonderful, historic theater.
Come for the festivals and leave before morning comes.
Parking situation makes staying overnight in Phoenixville an Extremely Unpleasant Affair.
Phoenixville has the most predatory and capricious public parking system I've ever seen. It's designed to generate tickets. I wound up paying $40 in parking fees. That alone would have been manageable, but the design of the system made my visit to a film festival at The Colonial Theater something of a nightmare.
We arrived at 1030 am for 13-14 hour event that started at noon. Parking was $2 an hour. Parking was live 7 days a week from 6 am to 2 am in the city's public lots.
Problem #1: You can only pay for 14 hours max - and you can't edit or add time. You have to wait for the first purchase to run out or start an entirely new purchase. So I had to set an alarm for 1230 pm, leave the theater mid-film and pay for 2 more hours.
Problem #2: Then after being up till 2am, I discovered that I couldn't log into the app to pay for parking until 6am so I had to set an alarm for 6am to get up and pay more in the app or get ticketed. I got almost 4 hours of sleep and then had to quickly log in at 6am on the dot.
I paid for 4 hours and got to the parking lot at 950am with 10 minutes to spare. The guy who issued the tickets pulled in as we were loading our vehicle up and was checking each of the vehicles to slap tickets on them.
I will never again stay in Phoenixville, which is unfortunate because I feel like the local hotel does a good job. The parking issue could be fixed in many different ways - but it's set up to produce tickets and generate lots of revenue for the town/borough/whatever. These events happen a few times a year, I will be staying at a hotel outside of Phoenixville and would recommend that to anyone parking for an overnight event.

The town is walkable. Many eateries. Many stores.
The town is walkable. Many eateries. Many stores. Murals painted everywhere. I felt safe walking alone, at night. I saw a policeman on a bike, who smiled at me. Everyone I saw was having a great time. Lot's of people walking dogs, I made many 4 legged friends. Shop owners had bowls of water for pets. Mostly a 25 year to 35 year old crowd. Metered parking. The outer areas are very historical. And should be visited too. I had oven brick pizza and then pumpkin French toast at Nudy's. This is my second visit. I can't wait to visit again.

Phoenixville was great.
Phoenixville was great. Very good food choices, shops ranged from quaint to sophisticated. Wanted not sure which eatery but had two fantastic breakfasts. Lots of walking and while I strongly disliked the parking inconvenience when I first arrived the atmosphere in the town with the streets blocked off was very casual and relaxed. I would go back not that I no the situation. I would avoid any metered parking which is ubiquitous and oppressive. I never understood any city leadership that sought out visitors and then used them for revenue from parking violations. I parked on Friday night in what I thought was a proper lot for my hotel and. Went out to my car at 1000 am on a Saturday only to find a $20.00 ticket. On my first visit to the town I discovered could not park in the hotel lot all weekend and had to pay for a space 1/4 mile away. If the town itself wasn’t so wonderful that wold have left a wrose taste.

I lived in Phoenixville for 5 years - charming town - tons to do - good places for food and partying - nice area with tons to do. The theater on main street is a must see....still up and working - it's where the movie THE BLOB was filmed....so it's a historical place. And VALLEY FORGE is only a few minutes away....!

The room was cleaned well every day.
The staff was polite and helpful!
The location was very convenient to my place of business and all hotels.
Thank you for everything!
Good location, nice and quiet, just outside town. Cheaper than a philadelphia hotel / motel and ok to drive in for a visit. Phoenixville seems like a charming little town.
