All went typically well EXCEPT for the interaction with one staffer. He refused to be helpful with a TV problem and even made up a tale of having to .”throw away” the set from my room because of the change in settings from the prior guest. Other inaccuracies occurred about programming. I fixed the problem on my own after receding such a response.

Known for their hot springs but if you just want to relax and look at beautiful scenery, this is a nice little town to visit. My only complaint, and this goes for all the little towns I've visited in CO, is that there isn't a wide variety of restaurants. Mostly burgers, tacos, bar b que and maybe a Thai or Chinese restaurant, very few healthy options. And some restaurants close after lunch, making dinner-time even more difficult. Great escape from the AZ heat!

Our trip to Pagosa Springs was planned last minute after our plans to Ruidoso, NM had to be cancelled because of devastating fires. We honestly didn't know much about Pagosa before we arrived, we were just looking for a mountain getaway. We were pleasantly surprised to find a great home surrounded by forest, as well as a charming town, with great restaurants, friendly people and necessary amenities. We would have loved to have spent more time exploring the San Juan River and the hot springs. We definitely want to come back.

We needed to chill and disengage from our lives a bit.
We needed to chill and disengage from our lives a bit. This place magically does that for us . It's our second time here in 10 years and I don't like to revisit places but this is our magical place. The Alley House was a great delight! The crime free atmosphere was refreshing. It is a destination to behold. There are few places like this to experience.

Liked: This is a place for outdoor lovers!
Liked: This is a place for outdoor lovers! Many options for walking/hiking. Abundant lakes in and near the city if you love to fish! Very nice walking trail that follows the river through town.
The hot springs are ok if you like that sort of thing, but are on the pricey side.
Not so great: Not many dining options (a lot of the restaurants seem to be closed on Sunday) and seem to lean toward brew pubs and burger joints.
Small rustic cabins with a kitchenette that was stocked with nice dishes and cleaning products. Gas fireplace stove in the living area was amazing! The bathrooms were clean and well stocked with soft towels. The cabin was great for 2 people and was very cozy and comfortable. The property itself was beautiful with the river running behind it. The trees in front of the cabins added to the cozy cabin feel especially after it snowed! Great location and easy access to the highway.
We liked how easy it is to get everywhere from the hotel. We were able to check in early which was nice! We were only there to sleep basically and shower, but had a good stay. The gentleman that checked us in was very friendly and helpful. We didn’t have the breakfast, but looked to be mainly pastries and cereal. We ended up getting breakfast at 2 Chicks and A Hippie and it was great!
Room was clean, parking was ideal for someone towing a trailer. Beds were comfortable, location was quiet.
Was surprised with no one on site for check in like a traditional hotel, but this was not an issue for us, it was unique.
