The Oxford Square is worth the trip, and particularly Square Books, with its ample Faulkner and Southern Writer sections. A stay in Oxford should always include a visit to Rowan Oak, where Faulkner composed the majority of his work.

    Great little college town.

Great little college town. Faulkner country, for literary fans. Bustling, small downtown complete with courthouse square and healthy shops/restaurants on all sides. Great bookstore. Easy access to Ole Miss.

Oxford is home to the most beautiful campus in MS!

Oxford is home to the most beautiful campus in MS! Ole Miss campus is definitely worth walking through, with all the beautiful buildings and landscape. The square is full of boutiques and wonderful places to eat! Drive around and enjoy the beauty of the older homes.

Oxford is a beautiful, well-kept city.

Oxford is a beautiful, well-kept city. You can tell its residents take great pride in their town! We went as William Faulkner sojourners and were not disappointed. Everything we saw was awe-inspiring. While we couldn't go inside Rowan Oak, we were allowed to roam the gorgeous grounds and take lots of pictures. Faulkner's gravesite wasn't hard to find with the historical marker in front and we, of course, took a shot of whiskey and left the glasses at the grave (it's what you do). Oxford has many of the usual franchises for food, but they also have amazing locally-owned restaurants and bars. We didn't meet one person who wasn't very friendly and helpful. The square is awesome - definitely don't miss Square Books! This was one of the best trips we have ever been on!

A nice southern town with interesting architecture.

A nice southern town with interesting architecture. Walking through the neighborhoods was interesting. Easy to walk around, but a little hilly. You can find historical places if you look for them. Food at restaurants and pubs was very good. Service at excellent. Almost everyone in town wore masks.
