Building has lots of potential, but smoking, carpets need to be cleaned at least a good 4 times carpet extracted or completely changed out, beds were decent, lights extremely dim, an odd ordor through out the entire hotel, musty moving towards moldy smell.
Like I said, investment for renovations, upgrade the old dive bar on first floor, make it a MODERN dive bar, maybe ax throwing or newer sports bar type. Attract young people there, seems like it's more of a seniors bingo with liquor place, smoking

The staff was so helpful. The facility itself was clean and nicely done. Our room was spacious and exceptionally clean and comfortable. When I am in Ottumwa it will be the only place I stay.

Free parking is nice. Bed was alright. There is a pool.
The town is run down and poverty stricken. Meth heads and Junkies walk the streets asking for cash or a light and police sirens blast all night. The hotel was terrible and smelled like the walls were full of black mold and musty. The only positive about the hotel was there were no bugs. Paid $140+ for a double queen at the AmericInn and you would have thought it was a $45 a night super 8. Never again…

The in house restaurant was nit as advertised in the phone price were twice advertised. They said it was a faux ad we have our doubts. The place was empty should have been a tip off. Eat anywhere else.

I didn’t like my room not cleaned out unless I asked and then only fresh towels and trash was taken care of.
I didn’t like that there was NO POOL it’s there but no one to take care of it. I didn’t like that I paid for a pool and it wasn’t working all summer. I stayed there three time’s and nothing.
I didn’t like the lack of breakfast choices and the freshness of it

All the staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel had a good selection for breakfast items and the hot food changed each day so it wasn’t always the same items which was really nice. Also The restaurant in hotel had great food and service, but it is a little pricey but worth the splurge.I will most definitely stay here again!!
After all the negativity from people had chose 2 other hotels last time in town this time I decided to try it out and was really impressed, was clean and the pool and hot tub are in the same area also has a guest washer and dryer
It was a very convenient location for us, and we didn’t have to travel far. It was a very clean and nice hotel! We took our dogs, and there were no problems!
