If you need quiet conditions to sleep well, stay somewhere else. This hotel is very close to a noisy freeway. I was assured that my room would be quiet, but sadly I don’t think such a room exists at this location. The bathrooms haven’t been updated, so I’m guessing that it won’t be a Hampton much longer and a new one will be built in a better location. We will certainly never stay here again. We will, however, definitely eat again at the excellent Thai restaurant recommended to us by front desk staff!

Oneonta is a small college town.
Oneonta is a small college town. During the summer it has a buzz of baseball, since the camp hosts nearly 100 teams every week. If you are into baseball, it is worth a few days to visit the Oneonta facilities, visit Cooperstown and relax, The eateries mostly close around 8PM, leaving only fast food for eating out.

Not much doing in Oneonta.
Not much doing in Oneonta. We were there to visit our granddaughter during Parent Weekend. We found that a lot of the smaller more interesting shops were closed or closed early. Didn't have many eating options outside of the McDonald's level places, either. Once we did find a good restaurant (Sloan's) we decided to just eat there during our stay. Cooperstown is nearby and the scenery is lovely during the fall. Nature lovers can probably fill their day with no problem, but if you're looking to walk around in a cute little town/village, this is not the place. So many lovely, old homes but too many in disrepair. They could do so much with this town to make it a trendy place I don't know why it hasn't been done already! I will say that local people that we met were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel rooms need to be updated and bathrooms off the lobby need to be cleaner. We were planning on eating & relaxing at the hotel since they listed a restaurant and bar on property, but when we arrived, we were informed they were closed.

Sadly this town is suffering from lack of infrastructure and jobs I am guessing - very depressing. Lots of places to drink (maybe that is where the nickname Stoneonta comes from) but not much to do - homeless people, boarded up businesses, and lots of empty places.

Town seems to be a regional hub of all the restaurants, home improvement stores, hotels, shopping, and other amenities you ever need to live comfortably. I never seem to have time while I'm there to investigate how many nearby attractions there are but it doesn't seem like many. Most surrounding towns are very quiet and rural. I88 leading up to Oneonta from the east is very desolate and currently in lousy condition due to multiple large paving projects that haven't made much progress in the last three years.

The property is quite large and located in a beautiful surroundings of Oneonta. Everything is nearby with easy access to highways. One can enjoy the scenic hilly surroundings of the nearby hills. The room was nice and breakfast was sufficient. We could park our car near to the room which was comfortable.
The location of the hotel was good for going out lots of restaurants and bars. Breakfast was ok. Beds were comfortable. A/C worked well nice and cool in the room. Lots of channels to choose from for TV. Very close to All star village.
Felt unsafe. I was shocked no elevator. The shower had hair in it. Totally sketchy hotel atmosphere. People using the room as a hang out people in and out. Doors not secured. I would never stay there again.
About your hotel nothing. The manager is nasty as can be. I have pictures of proof of BUGS in the room it was dirty. I will never go back. We are talking to a lawyer because of the bug issue there.
