We arrived in the evening, very tired, & the lady in the reception was so sweet enough to upgrade us to the 2br suite, overlooking the beach! The hotel is right by the sea, so it's perfect for long walks on the beach without having to drive for ages. Watching the sunrise either from the veranda or from the beach was an absolute highlight. The staff are very friendly and helpful with anything you need, especially housekeeping. There is complimentary coffee/tea at the front office in the mornings since they do not serve any breakfast. But there are plenty of choices withing a 3 mile radius.

The only drawback would be the train that ran less than 20 feet from our door. It went by every two hours or so. This was not mentioned on the website at all when reservations were made.

Bring earplugs because the trains run all night. That or turn up the air conditioning and keep windows closed. The beach was very clean although be prepared as the water is very cold.
The area near the pier had some unsavory characters and panhandlers. So I did not feel comfortable walking there in the evening.
Not a lot of good restaurants within walking distance. Joseph's by the Sea was excellent but limited menu. Need a reservation. Very popular.

Old Orchard Beach has plenty of shopping and choices to pick for eating. We ate at the Bell Buoy Restaurant and had a delicious meal. We walked from our hotel to the restaurant and shopping. There are many shops and choices of entertainment on the beach.

If you want wall to wall bodies, lots of noise, lights,...
If you want wall to wall bodies, lots of noise, lights, music, activities and stimulation then this is the place for you! It was just too overwhelming for my travel mates and I. When we head to a beach we want to hear the wind and ocean and try to find some serenity. Old Orchard Beach definitely isn't it.

There is so much to do… the pier & amusement rides are busy.
There is so much to do… the pier & amusement rides are busy. Parking is at a premium so be prepared to walk. Some of the businesses were showing their age, but so are we. If I had it to do over again I would have picked a quieter location.

It is beachfront as stated, very clean (checked on bedbugregistry.com) and the personnel is very kind and available to help anytime. All the amenities were in good condition, as specified.
Even though it was out of season, the location was exceptional, right on the beach, close to the Amusement Park, the Pier, and the nightlife of Old Orchard Beach.
