Located in Oakhurst, just 10 miles from Yosemite National Park, the completely nonsmoking Sierra Sky Ranch was established as a cattle ranch and evolved into a guest ranch in 1946.

Great pit stop for Yosemite, I've stayed at other hotels and they've been fantastic. I opted for a more economical one this time around but obviously you get what you pay for. Would come back again as a pit stop for Yosemite

The service people in this city were so friendly and helpful. There were many restaurants to choose to eat. Both places we had dinner were tasty and efficient. There is a clothing/souvenier shop in town with great selection. The visitor center was helpful and offered an adequate choice of Yosemite souveniers. Make sure you have a reservation for Yosemite or book a tour a head of time. Discover Yosemite Tours was excellent.

Loved the quiet relaxing location and its proximity to Yosemite. The host Eddie was very helpful and generous compared to most airbnb we have encountered. One of two top locations and hosts of our 71 day trip through Canada and USA!

This was a good location, not too far from Yosemite. There is a good grocery store where we bought lunch supplies for our day at Yosemite. There are several restaurants, we had great hamburgers at Pete's Place.

Oakhurst is a quaint little town with friendly people but the hotel was not up to par. They advertise free breakfast with the room which was only Raisin Bran cereal, toast, coffee and juice. No selection...take it or leave it. The room smelled musty and damp but was okay for a short stay. I checked out a day early.

If you're going to the Yosemite Park, it's a 20-30min drive to the entrance (1-1.5h to the parking lot). It's recommended to arrive at the lot before 8AM to find a spot (the later in the day, the harder to get one, especially at Curry Village). Consider leaving the house at 6-6:30AM at the latest - it's early but worth it. There are grocery stores nearby (5-10min drive), two pizza restaurants. The house is in a quiet street, has a nice view to some greenery - nice to have a cup of coffee and just sit there contemplating it. Overall, excellent choice. If the location works for you - you can't go wrong with this house. Oakhurst itself has little to offer (in my opinion), but it is a convenient base for those who want to explore the natural attractions of the Yosemite and Sequoia national parks.

Lovely old historic property and great location only 20 minutes from entrance to Yosemite National Park and only a minute off the main road. a 10 minute drive from Oakhurst for restaurants. Rooms on the small side but adequate for a short stay. Fabulous veranda for those rooms at the front of the property - definitely worth requesting. The pool was a bonus. The breakfast staff were delightful, so kind and friendly. Breakfast perfectly adequate for us with choice of yoghurts, cereals, bread and fruit.
The location was perfect for visiting Yosemite, but wanting staying outside of the park. Stores and restaurants are just a short drive from the hotel.
We truly enjoyed the quiet, peaceful and non-chain atmosphere of Hounds Tooth. Delicious custom-made breakfast as well!
The room was spacious and clean. Good location - 25 minutes from Yosemite and near good restaurants, a supermarket, and other services like laundry. It was great using the hotel hot tub after a day of hiking in Yosemite. The staff was helpful and nice.
