We chose the La Quinta by Wyndham St. Albans for its location -- we were coming to view the April 8 2024 total solar eclipse and the hotel, with its generous parking areas and broad expanses of lawn provided us with an excellent place to view the eclipse, while able to to walk from our room to the viewing area without needing to use our car for the entire two nights and busy eclipse day. Absolutely wonderful (and the eclipse was spectacular as well).

There was such a wide variety including the waffle station big and small ones. Plain and blueberry ones.

Pros: Staff was very friendly, beds were comfy, decor was modern. Breakfast was pretty good. There were pancakes, Cinnamon rolls, eggs, sausages, biscuits, bagels, toast, yogurt, cereal, fruit cups, juice, coffee and tea.
Overall would stay again, I would just want them to try to fix the smell. Everything else was perfect.

For us, North Hero had a wonderful balance of nature and civilization. Many parks and public access spots on the lake. Cycling here is good - requires at least occasional stretches on busy roads. Check out the fossils!
