The location was great, the layout was tremendous, and the views were phenomenal. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is spacious. Loved everything about it! Was in Newland for a wedding.

Was in Newland for a wedding. It's a good town if you are planning to spend most of the time doing something else in the mountains. The town itself is pretty small and has good police presence at night. The first night I walked from my motel to Puerto Nuevo, a Mexican restaurant with decent portions to have another meal for the next day. Did a bike ride straight from the motel to Banner Elk and back the next day prior to the wedding and then checked out the day after. If you're looking for a more urban setting with more food options, then I recommend somewhere around the Boone area. Newland is still pretty nice if you're just passing through.

    The area is beautiful!!!

The area is beautiful!!! We loved the local free water access at the lake! It saved our trip since the place we booked could not provide us the 'QR' code to access the amenities included with our stay. We stopped at the Mountain View Water park on 221 S. at the bottom of Linville Mtn and it was affordable and wonderful. We had a great time in the area that made up for the horrible experience with our rental.

Outside the bustle of ski country.

Outside the bustle of ski country. It would be a good location those who plan to visit the local mountains or attractions in the area. The community of Land Harbor has amenities for summer activities. Restaurants and shopping are not within walking distance. It requires a car.

This is a beautiful spot off the Blue Ridge Parkway, where we came to visit Linville Caverns and Grandfather Mountain. We ate at a great BBQ restaurant and a great Mexican restaurant. We didn't try the Italian one but it was right there with the others. So, food options were very good, and we could buy anything we needed at a nearby Dollar General. It was peaceful and beautiful.
